The Aquaman star secretly welcomed her daughter, Oonagh, in April 2021. “She’s the beginning of the rest of my life,” Heard wrote via social media in July of that year. Kardashian, meanwhile, raised eyebrows when she and then-husband Kanye West named their firstborn child, North. The now-exes also share daughter Chicago and sons Saint and Psalm. Ashley Tisdale is another star who opted for a special moniker when she and husband Christopher French welcomed their first baby, daughter Jupiter. “I just came up with her name a year and a half before I got pregnant,” Tisdale explained during a 2021 Good Morning America visit, noting the name was inspired by a song her mom sang when she was putting her tights on as a kid. “It's like, 'Hands up! Too Hot to Handle alum Francesca Farago and her fiancé, Jesse Sullivan, welcomed fraternal twins in November 2024, later revealing their creative names via Instagram. The couple each shared photos of the babies wearing custom jewelry with the names Poetry and Locket on gold chains.

Ryan Reynolds revealed the name of his and Blake Lively’s fourth child while attending the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in July 2024. “I want to start by saying thank you to my wife, Blake, who is here,” he said on stage. “I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here. After Us confirmed in November 2022 that Heidi Montag gave birth to her second son with Spencer Pratt, the reality star introduced newborn Ryker via Snapchat. The couple are also the parents of son Gunner Stone, who was born in 2017.

Trisha Paytas welcomed her first child, Malibu Barbie, with husband Moses Hacmon in September 2022. "She has arrived," the YouTuber shared via social media alongside photos cuddling her baby girl.

When Grimes and Musk welcomed their daughter in December 2021, the on-again, off-again couple gave the infant a similar name to big brother X AE A-XII, the singer revealed in March 2022. They call her "Y."

In January 2022, Jeannie Mai revealed that she and her husband, Jeezy, named their baby, Monaco, in honor of the European principality located on the French Riviera. "Three years ago, Jeezy and Jeannie were talking on a bridge in France, talking about what it meant to do life together," Adrienne Bailon explained during an episode of The Real. "Here they decided to grow and raise a family together. Hence, they named their child after the [country] that changed their lives forever."

Heard introduced her daughter via Instagram in July 2021, writing, "She’s the beginning of the rest of my life."

Usher Raymond explained his daughter’s name to Extra in May 2021, calling her his house’s “supreme ruler.” The singer added, "Bo is at the end of it, so [she's] my little 'reign-bo.'"

Sadie Robertson announced her daughter’s name one month ahead of her May 2021 arrival, writing via Instagram that the moniker was inspired by Proverbs 16:24. Lala Kent debuted her and Randall Emmett's newborn daughter in March 2021.

Milla Jovovich revealed her third daughter’s name in February 2020, writing via Instagram: “Osian is a Welsh boy’s name and it’s pronounced O-shin. Now I know the name is long, but the family couldn’t agree on her middle name. Ever and my mom wanted Lark, @dashielanderson and I wanted Elliot. Then my husband Paul [W. S. Chris Brown announced his newborn son’s name in November 2019 with an embroidered jacket, reading “RORO & AEKO.” (The first moniker referred to his daughter Royalty’s nickname.) The rapper clarified in his Instagram caption that his baby boy's name is pronounced "Echo."

“She’s gonna Blaze a path to greatness!” Kandi Burruss wrote on Instagram after her and Todd Tucker’s daughter arrived via surrogate in November 2019.

Troian Bellisario confirmed her and Patrick J. Adams' daughter’s name in an October 2019 Instagram Story, 12 months after giving birth.The actress explained the inspiration behind their daughter's name the following month, telling Teen Vogue, "We were in Greece, so we were looking at a lot of Greek mythology, and we were like, ‘Oh, if we have a son, maybe we should name it something having to do with the actual sun.’ We were looking at the name Helios, and then we thought that Helios had a sister named Eos, and we didn't love Eos. But then we learned in Roman mythology that Eos was Aurora, which is the goddess of the dawn. And we thought it would be nice that she would be our dawning of a new day in our life."

Phillip Phillips and Hannah Blackwell welcomed their baby boy in November 2019. “I’m forever in love with this little kid,” the American Idol season 11 winner captioned his Instagram reveal. “He’s changed me so much already. We can’t take our eyes off of him. He’s perfect.”

Shay Mitchell shared her daughter’s name in November 2019, explaining to Vogue, “A close friend of ours was listing off names for her daughter that she had had a year and a half ago. Allison Holker and Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ baby girl arrived in November 2019.

Amber Rose and Alexander Edwards welcomed their first child together in October 2019. “Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.. the world is urs now,” the vice president of the Artists and Repertoire for Def Jam Recordings wrote on Instagram at the time. “Thank u @amberrose for loving me so much that u put ur body thru it 2 bring my sun [sic] in2 the world. Alanis Morissette’s son made his Instagram debut in August 2019. “He’s here,” the singer captioned the black-and-white pic.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West named their second son after the Book of Psalms in the Bible. The little one arrived in May 2019.

Jess Weixler and Hamish Brocklebank revealed their daughter’s unique moniker with her March 2019 birth announcement. “Welcome to the world Beatrice Danger Brocklebank. I mean..” the Good Wife star captioned a family pic on Instagram.

Hilary Duff and her boyfriend, Matthew Koma, welcomed their first child together — a baby girl — on October 25, 2018. She's also mom of son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie.

Cardi B and Offset named their first child together Kulture Kiari Cephus. The baby girl was born on July 10, 2018.

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson named their daughter True Thompson. The reality star revealed their baby girl’s name on Instagram. “Our little girl, True Thompson, has completely stolen our hearts and we are overwhelmed with LOVE,” Kardashian wrote on April 16, 2018. “Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family! Mommy and Daddy loooooove you True!” 

Less than a week before the Revenge Body host announced her daughter’s name, multiple outlets published photos and videos of the NBA star appearing to kiss several women while Kardashian was still pregnant.

Kylie Jenner revealed the name of her baby girl, Stormi, in a sweet picture of the newborn holding onto the proud mom’s thumb on Tuesday, February 6. The reality star had confirmed just two days earlier that she had given birth on February 1, 2018.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West named their first child, a baby girl born on June 15, 2013, North West. "Kim sort of explained it to me," grandma Kris Jenner told Huffington Post Live about the name at the time. "She said North is the highest power. And their baby North, their little girl, is the highest point and power between the two of them. So I thought that was really cool.” 

The couple named their second child, a son born on December 5, 2015, Saint West. Kardashian announced the name two days later on her website.   Kardashian and West named their third child, a daughter born on January 15, 2018, via surrogate, Chicago West.

The reality star announced the name via her app on January 19. Her nickname is “Chi,” which is pronounced “Shy."

Superstar parents Beyonce and Jay Z reportedly filed an application to trademark daughter Blue Ivy's name just one month after her Jan. 7, 2012 birth. Possible inspiration for the name? Jay Z has released three Blueprint albums, and Ivy reportedly references the Roman numeral (IV) for 4, which is the date of their wedding. 

Keeping it in the family! Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson daughter Maxwell Drew, born on May 1, 2012, was named after Johnson's middle name and Simpson's mother Tina's maiden name. Their son, Ace Knute, born on June 30, 2013, was named after Johnson's Swedish paternal grandfather, Knute Johnson.

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and Josh Duhamel welcomed son Axl Jack on Aug. 29, 2013. "Fergie is a huge Guns 'N Roses fan . . . so Axl makes perfect sense," a source close to the singer told Us Weekly of reportedly naming her son after frontman Axl Rose.

Cougar Town actress Busy Philipps and husband Marc Silverstein named their daughters Birdie (born August 2008) and Cricket (born born July 2013). "It's weird people think my kids will be in therapy because of their names," Philipps tweeted. "Guys, my kids will be therapy for LOTS of reasons, I'm sure."

So nice they named her . . . five times! Uma Thurman and boyfriend Arpad Busson named their daughter Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson. "We couldn't quite agree on the name, so we call her Luna," Thurman told Jimmy Fallon after the July 2012 birth. "She's lucky that way."

Holly Madison and now-husband Pasquale Rotella welcomed daughter Rainbow Aurora on March 5, 2013. "There are a lot of smug haters out there who bag on my choice of a name, but I don't care about what they think," the former Playboy model blogged on March 8. "I want my daughter to be proud of who she is and learn to speak up and stand up for herself at a young age."

After welcoming their first child on May 31, 2013, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum gave their daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum, two middle names in honor of both of their grandmothers. Why Everly? "Jenna just heard it in her head one day. I guess she likes The Everly Brothers," Tatum joked to David Letterman.

After Reese Witherspoon welcomed her first child with husband Jim Toth in September 2012, her friend Chelsea Handler joked, "You had the baby and you named it Tennessee and I still couldn't figure out if it was a boy or a girl." Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy named their son Bingham Hawn Bellamy. "For those wondering, Bingham is my mum's maiden name," the Muse frontman tweeted. "Bing Russell was also Kurt [Russell's] dad. Family connections all around!"

Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim named their son -- born Oct. 3, 2005 - Kal. El, after Superman's birth name.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second child, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, on Aug. 21, 2008.
