Bhoomi Shetty to headline ‘Mahakali’, created by Prasanth Varma

Kannada actor Bhoomi Shetty, who has made inroads into the Telugu film industry, is set to star as the lead in Mahakali, part of the Prasanth Varma Cinema Universe (PVCU). Created by filmmaker Prasanth Varma, the movie will be directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru.

Prasanth Varma took to social media on Thursday (October 30, 2025) to reveal the first-look poster of Bhoomi from Mahakali. The actor is seen in fiery goddess avatar in the poster.

Bhoomi is already part of Telugu television serials and Mahakali will be her second big project Telugu project yet. The actor was seen in the Vijay Devarakonda-starrer Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.

Meanwhile, Mahakali joins Prasanth’s HanuMan and Jai Hanuman in the PVCU. While Prasanth directed HanuMan, the first film in the superhero series, he has penned the script of Mahakali. The movie will be bankrolled by RKD Studios.

Prasanth is set to direct Rishab Shetty in Jai Hanuman. Rishab is currently basking in the mammoth success of Kantara: Chapter 1, bankrolled by Hombale Films.
