Bre Tiesi Makes Rare Comment About Mariah Carey on 'Selling Sunset'

9 hours ago 1

Bre Tiesi finally addressed Nick Cannon‘s ex-wife, Mariah Carey, during season 9 of Selling Sunset.

While catching newcomer Sandra Vergara up on the office drama in the newest batch of episodes, which are currently streaming, Bre, 34, mentioned that her feud with Chelsea Lazkani started over Nick, 45.

“Doesn’t he have, like, 20 kids?” Sandra, 37, asked Bre, who clarified that Nick has 12 children.

Sandra followed that up by referring to Cannon as “Mariah Carey’s ex” before asking whether Bre ever “met” the singer, 56.

“I try not to talk about my religion. I don’t talk about pronouns or Mariah,” Bre fired back. “Just for the future, those are things that are my no’s.”

Carey became a mother when she welcomed Monroe and Moroccan in 2011, now 14, with Cannon. Carey and Cannon called it quits in 2014 after six years of marriage. They finalized their divorce two years later and have remained focused on coparenting their kids.

“She is high frequency, man. She always asks me, ‘You aight? You good? How you doing? You handling it all?’” Cannon said on “The Jason Lee Show” podcast in May 2023 while sharing Carey’s reaction to him having multiple children with different women since their split. “She’s like, ‘As long as you don’t bring none of that bulls*** to the Manor of Carey.’ Like, she lives in her own world, nothing can infiltrate that stuff. When we talk daily, she’s just checking on my spirit.”

In addition to Moroccan and Monroe, Cannon shares sons Golden, 7, and Rise, 2, and daughter Powerful, 3, with Brittany Bell, twin sons Zion and Zillion, 3, and daughter Beautiful, 2, with Abby De La Rosa, son Zen, who died at 5 months old in 2021 after suffering a brain tumor, and daughter Halo, 2, with Alyssa Scott, son Legendary, 2, with Bre and daughter Onyx, 2, with LaNisha Cole.

“Everybody lives their own life, before me and after me,” Cannon told E! News in August 2024. “I think that’s how you keep the peace and [keep] everybody moving. Like, everybody [is] worried about themselves and not worried about what someone else is [doing]. As long as the kids are happy and they have the strongest understanding, I think that’s what makes sense. You gotta operate out of that.”

Bre has also opened up about where she stands with Cannon.

“I don’t think he’s seen [the show], to be completely honest,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2023. “I always say this, he’s my best friend no matter what. We are super close. We’re both in the social media and TV world, so this is something that’s fun [for us].”

Despite their strong bond, Bre said she didn’t have plans to expand their family yet. “I would feel so much more guilt that I don’t have the time. I already am feeling like I don’t have enough time with [Legendary],” she shared with Us. “To add another child — I just feel like it wouldn’t be fair. Maybe in a couple years that will change.”

Selling Sunset is now streaming on Netflix.
