Chicago P.D. is getting a new series regular for season 13 after Toya Turner’s exit — and fans of The Night Agent will know her instantly.

Us Weekly confirmed on Wednesday, July 23, that Arienne Mandi has joined Chicago P.D. ahead of the new season.

Mandi, 31, will play officer Naomi Kerr, a former soldier and military contractor that thrives in “dangerous situations,” according to Deadline, the first to report the casting.

The character is said to be a “fearless outsider who keeps her cards close to the vest,” per the outlet.

“Been a wild few days,” Mandi wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, July 22, sharing the news herself. “Couldn’t be more grateful for this new chapter and all the people who made space for me in it — friends, fam and the best team ❤️ @rikkidalemanagement @greenetalent Comin for you @nbconechicago!!!”

Prior to joining the Dick Wolf series, Mandi played Noor Taheri on Netflix’s The Night Agent during season 2, which dropped in January. She previously starred on The L Word: Generation Q from 2019 to 2023.

While the details surrounding Mandi’s role on Chicago P.D. are subject to change — mainly in regard to the character name or descriptor — it is clear the Intelligence Unit is in need of a fresh face.

Mandi joins Chicago P.D. one month after Turner, 35, announced her departure from the procedural. Turner portrayed Kiana Cook for season 12, making her the latest addition to the team.

“My time on Chicago P.D. has come to a close,” the actress wrote via Instagram on June 26. “This show challenged me, sharpened me, and revealed what I’m made of. I’ve evolved through this experience, both as an artist and in my craft, and I’m walking away with depth, clarity, and momentum for whatever comes next.”

Turner added: “To the cast and crew: thank you for the warmth, the laughter, and the generosity you brought every day,” she added. “It was an honor to share the screen and the set with such talent. To the ChiHards: thank you for welcoming me, rooting for me, and showing Kiana love.”

While Turner’s exit is a surprise, fans have been bracing themselves for change following an explosive season 12 finale.

During the May finale, Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) was on the brink of seeing his team dismantled for good after crossing Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy). As Voight was preparing to face internal affairs for his alleged misconduct, drug dealer Jesus Otero’s (Juan Javier Cardenas) son, Reinerio (Jason Sanchez), shot and killed Reid — shortly after Voight let Reinerio out of police custody.

While Reid’s death seemingly means the Intelligence Team will be back in action, showrunner Gwen Sigan teased that might not be the case.

“We didn’t get to see them actually walk back into the unit. It wasn’t just easy clean, we’re done, bow tied and they figured it all out,” she exclusively told Us in May, hinting that season 13 will bring a “different dynamic” for the unit.

Chicago P.D. returns to NBC Wednesdays this fall.
