Chris Evans and Wife Alba Baptista Welcome Baby No. 1: Report

Chris Evans and wife Alba Baptista have reportedly welcomed their first child, according to multiple reports.

Evans, 44, and Baptista, 28, became parents to baby No. 1 in Massachusetts on October 25, TMZ reported via records on Tuesday, October 28, and People confirmed. The newborn’s name and gender are not yet known.

Rumors that the couple was expecting their first child began to swirl over the summer when a fan account posted a Father’s Day tribute for Evans’ and Baptista’s dads. Luiz Baptista, Alba’s father, commented, “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming! 🥰”

Evans opened up about wanting to be a dad in November 2024, telling Access Hollywood that he hoped to be a “superhero” father just like his Red One costar Dwayne Johnson’s character.

“Yeah, I hope so. Yeah, absolutely,” he said. “The title of dad is an exciting one.”

Evans and Baptista tied the knot with two weddings, one in Cape Cod and one in Portugal, in September 2023.

“I got married,” he said at a New York Comic Con panel in October 2023. “It was really, really great. We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal.”

Evans added that the ceremonies were “wonderful and beautiful.”

In June, Evans revealed how he proposed to his wife, who is Portuguese.

“I proposed to my wife in Portuguese,” Evans told The Knot. “She’s Portuguese, so I learned how to say, ‘Will you marry me?’ in Portuguese. I had practiced it all week. I had practiced it so much that while I’d be making breakfast and you almost just start saying it out loud. Like, ‘Oh God, that’s not just a song that’s stuck in my head! It’s gonna let the cat out of the bag.’ I got really nervous when it came time to do it. I actually think I screwed it up, but I still know it.”

The pair first sparked romance rumors in 2021 when the actress followed the Captain America star and several of his family members on Instagram. One year later, Evans and Baptista were spotted holding hands in Manhattan.

In January 2023, Evans made the relationship Instagram official by sharing a video of his past year with Baptista. “A look back at 2022 ❤️❤️❤️,” he captioned the post.

That same month, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the two had “gotten serious.”

“This is the most committed anyone can remember him being in a very long time, if not ever. They spend most of their time at his place in Massachusetts and love the quiet life there, surrounded by nature and away from the spotlight,” the insider said. “Chris was very open that he wanted to take his time before settling down.”

In March, Jimmy Warden, who directed Baptista in Borderline, told People that she and Evans are meant to be.

“Sometimes you run into people, [and] you’re like, ‘Oh, this wasn’t matchmaking.’ You know what I mean? No one was pulling the string,” Warden said. “It was just like, ‘Oh, these people are exactly right for each other.’”
