Before he met his wife, Alba Baptista, Chris Evans had been through his share of ups and downs in his dating life — but remained hopeful that he'd find The One someday. Evans' love life has captivated fans ever since his high-profile relationship with Jessica Biel. The former couple began dating in 2001 and worked alongside one another in two films, London and Cellular, throughout their relationship. Though they called it quits in 2006, the 7th Heaven alum had high hopes for their future together. "We always talk about [marriage]. We both want to be married, and we both want to have children," Biel told Cosmopolitan one year before her and Evans' split. She eventually tied the knot with Justin Timberlake in 2012. Despite Evans' struggle to find lasting love, he always remained hopeful that he'd have a family of his own one day. "I definitely want children. I definitely want a family. But you cannot put the cart before the horse," he told USA Today after his initial 2017 split from Jenny Slate. "The family only works if it's built off the extension of the love you feel for a person. If you all of a sudden want the kid more than you want the relationship, you may be on shaky ground." The former costars sparked romance rumors after meeting on the set of 2000’s The Newcomers.

The talented pair began dating in 2001 and starred in two movies together in the course of their five-year relationship. The former couple came close to taking the next steps before their eventual split, with Biel telling Cosmopolitan in 2005 that they had discussed marriage. “But we're not engaged, so the rumors are false ... so far,” she said at the time.

The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star was spotted locking lips with Rossum at a Hollywood bar in 2007 — but the Shameless alum insisted at the time that they were just friends.

Though the duo may not have dated for long, they appeared smitten with one another as they walked arm in arm at the 2007 Met Gala.

When the New York Post reported that the Laguna Beach alum had moved on with the Fantastic Four star following her split from Nick Zano, she quickly cleared the air. "I've known Chris for a while, just through mutual friends," Cavallari told Us Weekly in 2008. "We're just friends."

Cavallari continued to deny the years-long dating rumors during an April 2025 episode of her “Let’s Be Real” podcast, explaining that the speculation came about because she and Evans shared a “similar friend group” and “saw each other socially.”

She stated, “I never dated Chris Evans, ever, ever, ever. Didn't even go on one date with him. Literally, nothing ever happened. And there's been these rumors for years that we dated. Well, we never dated.”

Evans was seen leaving a London club with the Butterfly Effect actress in August 2010, but both movie stars were tightlipped about the status of their relationship.

An insider told Us that the Glee alum got cozy with the Knives Out actor at a pre-Oscars bash in February 2011, shortly after she and Alex Pettyfer called it quits. The pair dated briefly before going their separate ways.

According to E! News, the Twilight actress was "all over" Evans at a Hollywood club in March 2011 — and the dancing duo had "a lot of chemistry." At the time, Greene had just broken up with Joe Jonas after almost a year of dating.

The unlikely duo were first linked in early 2014 and each handled the rumors with a major sense of humor. "We've since married and it started breaking apart, so we separated," the Miss Congeniality actress teased Entertainment Tonight at the time. Evans and the Warrior Nun actress, who have a 16-year-age difference, were spotted holding hands in November 2022, one year after the pair initially sparked romance rumors.
