The princess is back! Ciara (Princess) Wilson, that is!

The Grammy-winning singer dropped her eighth studio album titled, CiCi, on Friday, August 22 — Ciara’s first in six years, since the 2019 release of Beauty Marks. She celebrated the album’s release with a takeover of the Red Lobster in Times Square, New York City, later that day. Fans had the opportunity to pose for photos and listen to the new album with Ciara.

In the time between these two albums, the “Goodies” singer has given birth to two children, son Win, 5, and daughter Amora, who will be 2 in December. Ciara exclusively told Us Weekly that this musical “era” has “been some of the most eventful years,” of her life.

“When I reflected back on the journey, I couldn’t believe I gave birth to two of my precious babies Win and Amora all while making this album,” Ciara said. “I was also fortunate enough to go on tour during this time as well. Honestly, life couldn’t have been more hectic and somewhat chaotic. If I must say I call it a good chaos though.”

Ciara is also mother to daughter Sienna, 8, who she gave birth to a year after marrying New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson in 2016. The couple are also parents to Future Zahir, 11, from Ciara’s previous relationship with rapper Future.

The “Like a Boy” singer said that she has been making sure to be kind to herself amid this “eventful” season of her life.

“I’ve been embracing myself every step of the way, giving myself grace when needed, because it’s definitely been a lot going on,” Ciara told Us. “But if I must say there’s nothing better than having your cup full of all the things that you want, desire and dream of. This chapter has definitely been a reflection of that.”

The release of CiCi serves as an official reunion of sorts between Ciara and Jazze Pha, the producer who helped create two of her biggest hits: “1, 2 Step” and “Get Up.” Ciara told Us that shortly after reuniting, she realized the collaborative pair “hadn’t missed a beat.”

“It also reminded me of how when you have a special creative chemistry with someone it will always last. Whenever we get together we have the most fun together. And that is definitely what I enjoyed the most. It definitely felt like the old days,” she continued.

For Ciara, there’s a few songs on her newest album, which include collabs from Tyga, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, Latto and more, that she’s “obsessed with.”

“One in particular is my song called ‘Made It.’ It’s a true reflection of my journey and my perspective on how life has evolved for me,” Ciara told Us. “I’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs, I’ve had to make significant changes in my life along the way. Luckily, it’s all amounted to something so beautiful. I’m so excited that I get to finally share it with the world.”
