These are their confessions. The Kardashian-Jenner family has spent over a decade being accused of heavily Photoshopping and Facetuning their photos on social media — and sometimes, they openly admit to it.
Khloé Kardashian in particular has copped to heavily editing her pictures. In 2016, the Good American founder called Facetune “life-changing” in an interview with Chelsea Handler.
“It’s not real, you are presenting to the world what you want them to believe you are. It’s amazing,” she said at the time. “I think our society nowadays is so caught up on getting validation from the social world that no one really knows, so they post these things.”
Khloé and Kim Kardashian have even owned up to altering photos of their kids on social media. The Kocktails with Khloé alum’s daughter, True, has even been added into the family’s Disneyland posts on Instagram multiple times.
In April 2022, the Kardashians star told fans that she superimposed True, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson, into photos taken of Kim’s daughter Chicago earlier that year. “Welllppp I f—ked this one up,” Khloé joked via Twitter at the time.
Weeks later, Kim revealed that she also Photoshopped True into more images from the same trip. The KKW Beauty founder replaced Kylie Jenner’s daughter, Stormi, with pictures of True because the Kylie Cosmetics mogul didn’t want her older sister to post the photos of Stormi.
Still, the Kardashians are also quick to shoot down accusations of Photoshop fails when necessary — like when Kim clapped back at followers who believed she edited out her belly button in an April 2022 photo shoot.
“Come on guys. Seriously! This is so dumb! Claiming I photoshopped out my belly button????” she wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “Belly button insecurities?! Well… why don’t you head on over to skims.com to conceal that saggy belly button of yours with a great pair of high waisted underwear like I did! You’re welcome!!!”
Khloé too has frequently called out trolls via social media.
In May 2020, after posting an Instagram photo of herself — which made headlines after thousands of followers claimed the Strong Looks Better Naked author’s face looked significantly different — Khloé had something to say when a fan asked what caused her ever-changing look.
“My weekly face transplant clearly,” she retorted at the time.
Two months later, the Revenge Body alum hit back again after a social media user told her that she looked unrecognizable in an August 2020 photo.
“Who is that on the right?” the follower wrote, to which the reality star replied, “Your new step mother. Be nice or get grounded.”

The Kylie Skin founder clapped back at a series of paparazzi images posted of her in 2017. “First of all if you’re going to photoshop my photos blogs/paps!! Check for the crooked lines in the background,” she tweeted at the time. “2nd photo is clearly altered.”
After North — whom Kim shares with estranged husband Kanye West — didn’t want to be in the family’s 2017 Christmas card, the media mogul later admitted to Photoshopping her daughter in after the fact. “‘Let’s just pretend,’” Kim told DeGeneres in 2018 of what she said to the photographer, who came over to do a photo shoot of solely Kim and North. “‘Cut me out and you’ll Photoshop her in.’ And it looks like a beautiful card.”
During a 2018 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 818 Tequila founder admitted that the parrot on her Vogue cover wasn’t actually touching her cheek, as it looked in the image. “Oh, they Photoshopped it in,” DeGeneres said. “That’s what you’re saying! It wasn’t that close to your face.” “It wasn’t that close to my face,” Kendall confirmed.
Khloé was once again was accused of heavy editing on social media after she shared a series of Good American images in 2021 — in which her feet and fingers appear egregiously elongated.
While not technically Photoshop, the reality star explained via Twitter the effect was due to “a camera lens that creates a stretching effect. The closer the object is to camera they will get elongated.” She claimed that it was also due to the “angle” of the pictures, writing, “So in some of my photos my feet/fingers look incredibly long. Not to worry! I still have normal size hands/fingers."
She continued: “And personally I think this camera lens is so f--king cool. It gives the photo a different vibe and not the same old visual I always see. Either way, I'm happy with them."

Khloé Cops to Photoshopping True Into Old Disneyland Photos

Kim Also Confesses to Superimposing True Into Those Disneyland Pictures
“The original pics were Stormi! However I asked @kyliejenner if I could post them and she said she wasn’t really feeling posting at the moment and so I respect that!” Kim admitted via her Instagram Story in April 2022, joking about the importance of her social media “aesthetic.”
She thanked True for “taking one for the team,” quipping that she “will be damned if Kylie will ruin [my Instagram aesthetic] for me and mess up my IG grid. … I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal if her own mom questioned if I snuck her to Disneyland for the first time.”
During an episode of The Kardashians, Kim offered a glimpse at her process editing photos.
"I don't trust anybody else to tell me when I look good," she told cameras in an October 2022 episode. "Even if I look amazing, [I will delete photos if someone else looks bad]. No one else will look at 10 people in a photo, but I do."
Khloé admitted that she stopped Photoshopping her pics as often as she used to during a July 2025 episode of her “Khloé in Wonderland” podcast.
“There was a time that I definitely did. There was a time that I was around some people that would make me feel like I needed to. I also think it was the era too. I felt like a lot of people were Photoshopping or heavily Photoshopping more than they do now,” she said, revealing that she now takes “500 photos” of herself until she finds one she’s happy with.
Khloé also said she looked “like a cartoon character” when she heavily Photoshopped her selfies.
"I feel bad that I thought I needed to look like that," she continued. "But I was around people who were all doing that. And if they took my photo they would make me look that way before giving it to me. And then I would think that's how I looked. And if I got paparazzied, I'd be like, 'I don't look like that. I look like this photo.' And I really had to reprogram my mind to be like, OK, we have to lay off the filters. This isn't real. That's not how I look. And I don't want to look like that. It was a strange time."
