Going into the 2025-2026 football season as a newly minted NFL wife, Hailee Steinfeld already has her game day style on point.
“On game days, I usually keep it to jeans, a T-shirt and a hat. That’s my go-to formula,” Steinfeld, 28, wrote in the Friday, September 5, issue of her “Beau Society” newsletter. “However, I have a lot of fun leaning into my vintage collection (which has turned into a real treasure trove in our basement), finding special pieces to pull out for the pure celebration that is a Sunday at Highmark Stadium.”
Steinfeld married Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Josh Allen in May after two years of dating, during which she started cheering him on during his NFL games. For the matchups, the actress added in her newsletter that she switches up her wardrobe to highlight different vintage Bills T-shirts and sweatshirts.
Steinfeld will then pair her team gear with either a neutral-colored pair of pants or a skirt, capping off her ensemble with a Bills baseball cap for even more team spirit.
“If I’m going to a football game, often in the freezing temperatures, warmth is a big priority. That means layers,” the Sinners actress noted on Friday, referencing winter temperatures in upstate New York. “A typical outfit might include a turtleneck bodysuit under a big vintage Bills sweatshirt, a comfy pair of jeans, high socks, sneakers and a beanie.”
According to Steinfeld, she likes to “lead with vintage” gear for her game day ‘fits.
“I usually wear a vintage Bills hat, jacket, shirt or crewneck. I get 90 percent of my vintage finds from my favorite store in Buffalo, and 10 percent from eBay,” she said, highlighting local shop Queen City Vintage and the online retailer. “Once I have a great vintage piece, it’s just a matter of filling in the basics.”
When it comes to putting her thrifted finds with other wardrobe essentials, Steinfeld makes sure that her overall looks blend comfort with confidence.
“My philosophy on styling is that when you’re wearing something you feel good in, you look great. It’s as simple as that,” she concluded. “I get inspired by what other people are wearing, of course. But ultimately, I always come back to: Wear what feels cool to you.”
Allen’s NFL season begins Sunday, September 7, with a home game against the Baltimore Ravens.
