Jude Law took a bit of a tumble while navigating Venice.

Law, 52, was traveling around the city in one of their famed water taxis, according to a video obtained by TMZ on Monday, September 1. The actor wore a suit jacket, dress pants, loafers and aviators.

As Law arrived at his destination with fellow travelers, he prepared to exit the boat one by one. A woman ahead of Law got out easily. Law, however, experienced more difficulty.

When Law stepped up to make his exit, he slipped and lost his footing, nearly landing on his face. Following the stumble, Law appeared to be fine and made his way out of the boat without any additional issues.

Law was in The Floating City for the annual Venice Film Festival, which kicked off August 27 and runs until Saturday, September 6. Law’s movie, The Wizard of the Kremlin, premiered at the event on Sunday, August 31. He attended the red carpet alongside his costars Paul Dano, Alicia Vikander, Will Keen, Tom Sturridge and Jeffrey Wright. Law rocked a white suit jacket, dress shirt with a black bowtie and dark dress pants. He completed the look with a pair of sunglasses.

Law stars in the political drama as a younger version of Vladimir Putin alongside Dano, who plays a fictional spin doctor named Vadim Baranov. The satirical film is based on the 2022 novel of the same name by Giuliano da Empoli. The Wizard of the Kremlin tells the story of how the spin-master played a role in Russian politics in the 1990s and contributed to Putin’s rise to power.

“[Director] Olivier [Assayas] and I discussed that this wasn’t to be an impersonation of Putin and he didn’t want me to hide behind a mask of prosthetics,” Law said of his role, per the Hollywood Reporter. “We worked with an amazing makeup and hair team and had references of that period in Putin’s life. We tried to find a familiarity on me. It’s amazing what a great wig can do.”

Following its premiere at the festival, The Wizard of the Kremlin earned a 10-minute standing ovation. Assayas reacted to the positive feedback by bowing and hugging his collaborators. Vikander, who plays Dano’s love interest, was brought to tears.

Later that night, Law enjoyed a date night with wife Phillipa Coan. While they did not walk the red carpet together, the couple were spotted on a rare outing at the amfAR benefit gala.
