Mahindra has taken the wraps off its Vision X Coupe-SUV concept at the brand’s Independence Day event. Positioned as the most urban-focused of four upcoming SUVs underpinned by Mahindra’s new NU.IQ platform, the Vision X will sit under the 4-metre mark, putting it in direct competition with popular subcompact SUVs such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
Versatile NU.IQ platform for multiple body styles
The NU.IQ platform, engineered for versatility, supports an overall length range of 3,990 mm to 4,320 mm, making it suitable for both sub-4 metre and larger SUVs. Despite its compact dimensions, the architecture promises the largest cabin space in its category for both 4.3 m and sub-4 m models.
Powertrain and market adaptability
This flexible architecture can accommodate multiple powertrains, including front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, and is adaptable for both left-hand and right-hand-drive markets. With a 2,665 mm wheelbase and optimised overhangs, it caters to a variety of driving and body style requirements.
Platform to underpin future Mahindra models
The NU.IQ platform will also serve as the base for three other upcoming Mahindra products, including the next-generation Bolero, which has been spotted testing several times.
Bold and coupe-inspired design
Visually, the Vision X concept stands out with slender headlamps, a sleek airdam, a long hood, and a coupe-style sloping roofline. Flush-fitting door handles and a dual-tone rear bumper add a modern, premium touch.
