Man City re-sign Trafford from Burnley

Manchester City have re-signed goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley.

City are set to pay £27m for the 22-year-old, who they sold to Burnley for £14m in 2023, which means this deal is effectively costing them £13m.

The fee agreed with Burnley was originally worth around £31m plus add-ons, but the price has been reduced for City due to a sell-on clause they inserted in Trafford's contract.

Trafford has signed a five-year deal with the option of an extra year and will compete with Ederson for the No 1 shirt under Pep Guardiola.

Stefan Ortega, who started 13 games in the Premier League last season, is expected to leave the club but an exit is not close to being agreed.
