Oasis Reacts After Fan Suffers Fatal Fall During Wembley Stadium Concert

Members of Oasis have spoken out after a fan suffered a fatal fall from an upper level at London’s Wembley Stadium during the group’s Saturday, August 2, reunion concert.

“We are shocked and saddened [to learn about the individual’s death],” the band, led by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, said in a Sunday, August 3, statement to the BBC. “Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”

A concertgoer at the group’s Saturday show fell off an upper tier of the arena, a spokesperson for the London Metropolitan Police told the BBC. He had been found with “injuries consistent with a fall,” per the rep, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

A representative for Wembley also issued a statement about the man, whose identity has not been publicly revealed.

“Despite [emergency] efforts, the fan very sadly died,” the rep for the venue said in a statement. “Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers.”

Oasis kicked off its Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour in July, which included seven sold-out performances at Wembley. The band had last played together in 2009 before Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, had a falling-out.

“It’s sounding huge,” Noel teased of the new tour during an appearance on talkSPORT Radio days before beginning the stadium shows last month. “This is it, there’s no going back now. It’s good.”

“Me, I love nostalgia,” he said at the time. “I’m doing the lot. Every album, even … what was the last one? … You never enjoy them the first time round, so I’ll be milking the lot. People say it’s the comfort zone. I want to be in the comfort zone! Bring me my slippers and my little blankie and put me in the comfort zone, please. Life’s stressful enough.”

Noel and Liam had a longstanding rivalry during the band’s heyday, with the older brother even quitting the group on two separate occasions.

“I’ve kind of learned that instead of arguing stuff out with him and ending up in a fight, I work on his psychology and he’s completely freaked out by me now. He’s actually frightened to death of me,” Noel told Spin magazine in 2005. “I can make him make decisions he thinks are his, but really they’re mine. Without fighting. It’s an art I’ve learned.”
