‘Parasakthi’: Sivakarthikeyan-Sudha Kongara film to clash with Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’

Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Sudha Kongara, has locked its release date. The Tamil movie, which also features Ravi Mohan in a pivotal role, is set to clash with Vijay’s Jana Nayagan at the box office in 2026.

Parasakthi is produced by Aakash Baskaran under the banner Dawn Pictures. The makers announced that the movie will hit the screens on January 14, 2026 on the occasion of Pongal. The H Vinoth-directed Jana Nayagan, touted to be Vijay’s last movie before his full-fledged involvement with politics, is set to release on January 09, 2025.

The makers of Paraskathi announced the release date with a short promo. The video reveals that the movie is a period drama. It also show glimpses of characters played by Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan.

GV Prakash is the music composer of the movie while Ravi K Chandran is the cinematographer. Atharvaa and Sreeleela are the other actors in the movie.

The makers had released a teaser for Parasakthi. In the teaser, we see a period story unfold, featuring Sivakarthikeyan as a mysterious leader who is unifying the students of Pachaiyappa’s College to form an army. Atharvaa appears as a student, while female lead Sreeleela appears to be Atharvaa’s romantic interest. Ravi, on the other hand, makes his menacing presence felt, as an antagonist vying to gun down Sivakarthikeyan’s character.

Sivakarthikeyan was recently seen in Madharaasi, the action drama directed by A R Murugadoss. Ravi Mohan has announced his directorial debut under his banner Ravi Mohan Studios. Starring Yogi Babu, the movie is titled An Ordinary Man.
