Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, has launched India's International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) Conference 2025 in Noida today, on 18 July 2025. Speaking at a lively audience of students and young leaders, the Minister called upon the youth to play an active role in creating a Viksit Bharat by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi under the 'Panch Pran' (Five Pledges) for Amrit Kaal.

Shri Goyal emphasised that India is at the threshold of a great change. Referring to the Prime Minister's speech on 15th August 2022, he stated that the 25-year Amrit Kaal until the centenary year of India's independence in 2047 is the determining moment for the country. He urged the youth to dedicate themselves to making India a developed nation by 2047.

He explained that the first of the five vows is the determination to transform India into a developed nation. Asking the youth to imagine themselves in the next two decades, he added that they will be the main architects of this change. "This promise can only be fulfilled if we also accept the other four vows with the same seriousness," he added.

The second vow, Goyal said, is to get rid of the colonial mindset. Speaking about India's glorious past as an economic superpower of the world, he said decades of foreign domination had undermined confidence and had put the brakes on growth. "We should not be shackled by the limitations of the past but rather aim to compete with global standards and set lofty targets," he said.

The third promise is concerning taking pride in India's heritage. Goyal has stated that India's history, culture, tradition, and systems of values are of deep importance as we become a developed country. "Vikas bhi, virasat bhi – we have to work towards development while safeguarding our heritage. Our diversity is our strength, and we have to marry our traditions in a collective march to progress," he further added.

Addressing the fourth pledge, the Minister informed that unity and integrity of the nation need to be uppermost. Praise for IIMUN's initiative to bring youth from all over India and the world on one platform, Piyush Goyal appreciated that this unity is India's biggest strength and should be fostered at all levels. He emphasised that this collective ethos is essential to the country's march towards becoming a developed nation.

The fifth vow, he added, is the collective determination of 1.4 billion Indians to make their contribution to nation-building. Goyal reiterated that a prosperous India can only be achieved if all citizens come together like a family, with joint responsibility and empathy. "We need to care about the marginalised, be responsible for the underprivileged, and make sure that our growth is inclusive and sustainable," he stated.

The Minister urged the youth to embrace nation-building as a responsibility and a privilege and to execute every task with commitment and dedication. He asked them to instill concern and care for others and do their best in whatever profession they pursue.

Making obeisance to the lives of teachers and mentors, Goyal asserted that though their efforts go unquestioned in school and college life, they have an indispensable role to play in determining the destiny of individuals and the country. He termed this relationship one of the most precious and enduring of their lives.

Piyush Goyal also encouraged the youth to think seriously about joining public life. Referring to the Prime Minister's speech on Independence Day 2024, he mentioned that the Prime Minister has invited one lakh young men and women to join politics and public service and become change agents. "There must be good and dedicated people to join policymaking with empathy, commitment, and a sense of service," he said.

Goyal challenged young people to own India's future and told them, "Be the changemakers, the movers and shakers of tomorrow's India. With collective resolve, we can overcome every challenge and lead our nation to greater heights.
