Pre-market update: Indian stock markets are likely to open on a flat on Thursday, as traders find mixed global cues and prepare for for a packed earnings session. GIFT Nifty futures were last seen trading around 12 points lower at 24,700, hinting at a subdued opening for benchmark indices.

This will be the last trading day of the week, as markets will remain closed on Friday, August 15, for Independence Day.

On the economic front, investors will be eyeing the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) data for July. The inflation print will offer insights into price pressures at the wholesale level, and could influence expectations around monetary policy going forward.
