Prince William and Kate Middleton Skip Royal Ascot: See Photos From Day 1

The 2025 Royal Ascot is in full swing with members of the royal family in attendance. The annual event, held at the Ascot Racecourse in England, kicked off on Tuesday, June 17, and is set to last until Saturday, June 21. Each morning before the horse races at the track, royal family members arrive at the course in carriages for a procession. King Charles III and Queen Camilla — along with other members of the family — were in attendance on the first day, but Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton were noticeably absent. Both royal men and women who attend the Royal Ascot are dressed to the nines with traditional hats. While the men opt for chic suits, the women are often in pastel looks. Charles was all smiles in his carriage while sitting alongside Camilla for the procession on June 17.

Camilla rocked a mint green outfit for the first day of races. Charles walked behind her, using an umbrella as a walking stick in his gray suit.

Princess Anne looked incredible for her carriage ride. The royal rocked a cream hat and a pin noting she would be sitting in the royal box.

Princess Beatrice opted for a pink-and-white checkered outfit on Day 1. She was accompanied by husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
