Shares of RailTel Corporations of India surged over 6 per cent recording its biggest intraday since September 2. The rally is attributed to the company's announcement of securing multiple orders worth over Rs 700 crore from the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). As of 2 pm, the shares were trading at Rs 359 showing a 3.83 per cent upside.
The shares are up around 39 per cent from its 52-week low of Rs 265.30 and a 52-week high of Rs 486.55 recorded on March 3,2025 and September 13, 2024 respectively.
RailTel FY26 Q1 Highlights
RailTel reported a 33 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue from operations, reaching Rs. 744 crore, and a 36 per cent increase in net profit (Profit After Tax) to Rs. 66 crore, year-on-year in the quarter ending June 30, 2025.
The market capitalisation of RailTel stands at Rs 11,483.18 crore.
RailTel secures Rs 713 worth orders
The telecom service provide said in its exchange filings that it has bagged five contracts of combined worth Rs 713.55 from the BPEC. The contracts include project related to the procurement, supply, and installation of smart classrooms and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs in government schools.
These include orders for middle school smart classrooms (Rs 262.14 crore), secondary and senior secondary school smart classrooms (Rs 257.50 crore), ICT labs (Rs 44.21 crore), Innovation and Smart Manufacturing (ISM) labs (Rs 59.76 crore), and supply of teaching and learning materials (Rs 89.91 crore).
The projects for BPEC are scheduled to be executed between end of 2025 and March 2026.
Earlier, the company secured an advance work order from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Rs 166.38 crore and a contract from the Airports Authority of India for telecommunication services worth Rs Rs 18.57 crore in August.
