The pair kept their budding romance private after being linked at NBC’s I Can Do That wrap party. “They were cozy in a booth together at the party,” an eyewitness exclusively told Us at the time, with multiple sources confirming that the duo were spending time together.
The athlete revealed that he and Ciara were abstaining from sex until they were married. “I asked her, ‘What would you do if we took all that other stuff off the table and did it Jesus’ way, no sex?'” Wilson said during an interview at The Rock Church. “I knew God had brought me into her life to bless her and for her to bless me and to bless so many people with the impact that she has and I have. We’re not going to be perfect, by any means.”
The singer’s rep confirmed to Us that Wilson proposed during a European getaway. “Following Paris Fashion Week, Russell surprised Ciara with a surprise holiday,” the rep told Us at the time. “She was shocked when they landed in the Seychelles at the exclusive resort North Island. The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancé at the romantic, private Honeymoon Beach, located on North Island.”
Us confirmed that the “Goodies” singer and the NFL star tied the knot in England surrounded by more than 100 friends and family members including six bridesmaids. La La Anthony, Kelly Rowland and Serena Williams were all in attendance.
The newlyweds joked about their sex life one day after walking down the aisle. “So, baby, you know what we’re doing tonight,” Ciara asked her husband in a Snapchat video in July 2016, to which Wilson said, “And what we did last night, I want to do multiple times.”
“I will forever win bc I get to come home to you every night,” Wilson wrote via Instagram alongside a kissing video with Ciara after his team, the Seattle Seahawks loss. “The love of my life. I love you. This past year has been full of so much joy & happiness. From getting Married to having our little one on the way, to your constant endless love. I couldn't be more grateful to have you in my life Mrs. Wilson. You make everyday a perfect day. #ForeverGrateful.”
The lovebirds welcomed their first child together, daughter Sienna, nine months after getting married. “Dear Sienna Princess Wilson, No matter how big the wave, we will always be your calm in the storm,” the musician wrote via Instagram, announcing her daughter’s birth. “We Love You. Love, Mommy & Daddy.”
“I’m grateful to God for the love he has given me, by putting you in my life,” the Texas native wrote via Instagram alongside a video of a plane pulling a custom one-year anniversary banner while on a trip to Mexico. “I have all that I need. Truly one of the best years of my life.”
Ciara gushed over her man after he surprised her with flowers on her birthday following her performance on Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic tour. “It was the best feeling because not only was it my birthday, but since he hasn’t been able to see me on tour yet,” she exclusively told Us of the moment. “Afterwards we had date night. The night was full of love.”

The songstress and football player announced their joint R&C fragrance launch with a black-and-white photo together. “I’m grateful for the ability to build brands we love together. @ciara,” Wilson captioned the snap via Instagram. “This fragrance embodies so much of our love and the power of togetherness. We’ve got big plans for @randcfragrance. Keep watching this space. 🖤.”
After injuring his right middle finger during the Seahawks game against the Los Angeles Rams, Wilson underwent surgery. His wife showed support via Instagram, writing, “You’re the toughest Man I know. Always dedicated and committed to do whatever it takes. I love you so much my Sweet King. Thank you Dr Shin and team for taking care of my baby #3 #RareBreed.”
“Perfect in every way. God made you for me. He made you to fit perfectly in my arms. Made you to be the amazing woman and mother you are. God made you to entertain the world with your gift to sing & dance!” the Ohio native wrote via Instagram on Ciara’s 36th birthday. “He gifted you with the ability to Tilt the room.. when you walk in ALL the furniture slides towards you. He gifted you with the ability to smile and bring joy to ALL things! Gifted you with the ability to LOVE. Happy Birthday my Queen @Ciara Heaven sent!”
Ciara told Entertainment Tonight that she wants to “enjoy” her “flat tummy” before welcoming another child, saying, “I look forward to the next baby when the time is right.”
During an interview on Kevin Hart's Laugh Out Loud radio show, Wilson recalled his first interaction with his now-wife, in which she roasted his worn-down wallet. "First day we met — and we had been talking for two-and-a-half hours, hanging out — she saw the wallet, sitting on the table. She said, 'What the hell is that? You're losing with that,'" he shared. "I put my finger [up] and said, 'First of all, with me, you're never losing.'"
He continued: "'Second of all, that wallet, that shows consistency. That's what you're going to get from me. You're going to get somebody who is consistent for you every day. Inside that wallet, there's something that's real in there.'"
Wilson surprised the “Love, Sex, Magic” singer with a new dog during a Mother’s Day celebration.
“Got a puppy! Her name is Bronco,” the Texas native said in an Instagram video showing off the new family pet. “Say hi, Bronco!”
The quarterback can be seen in the video standing beside his wife as he holds Bronco in his arms.
“Meet... BRONCO 🐶 The kids call her Bronco Love Brownie :)," she captioned the Instagram post, "The sweetest surprise. I love you baby @DangeRussWilson. #MothersDay❤️."
“Doing life with you has been everything I’ve hoped for, dreamt of, and more,” the Texas native captioned a sweet video of her and her NFL star husband on various idyllic vacations together in celebration of their six-year anniversary. “It’s the best feeling in the world waking up to you everyday. I’m a better woman because of you.”
Ciara continued by wishing her “best friend” a “Happy Anniversary,” also showing clips from their romantic Chesire, England, wedding. “God is Good! Year 6. Forever to Go ❤️,” the singer concluded her post.
"Denver's amazing," Ciara told Entertainment Tonight, referring to her family’s recent move from Seattle for Wilson’s career. "The fans have been amazing. The food is amazing. The way to my heart is good.”
The musican added: "I'm so happy. I love our home. My kids are happy in school. I love Denver — it's pretty amazing.”
Ciara announced that she is pregnant with the couple’s third child together, her fourth. “You look at me like that again, we make another kid,” she wrote via Instagram, quoting a lyric from her song “How We Roll” alongside a video showing her baby bump. “You my heart I’m your rib.” In his own Instagram post, Wilson added, “That’s just ‘How We Roll.’”
Wilson gushed about his wife in a sweet birthday tribute.
“Happy Birthday to my Queen, @ciara ❤️. You truly are Heaven sent, the perfect mother to our children, and God’s blessing to me as we get to do life together as Husband & Wife,” he wrote via Instagram.
Wilson continued: “I’m so grateful that God put you into my life and we’ve been able to create an amazing (growing) family. … I Thank Jesus for you every day! I Love You Mrs. Wilson.”
"When I asked her to marry me, once she said yes, I said, 'Before we go do this, can we pray? I want to make sure we always put God at the center of it all,'" Wilson recalled during an interview with Essence. "And so I think the thing that hopefully exudes from our love is that, listen, love is never perfect. But we continue to try to put God first and pray over each other. We have these four beautiful children that we get to raise every day and it's the greatest gift in the world."
Wilson paid tribute to Ciara on their 9th wedding anniversary, sharing a series of clips of the couple through the years. “From the moment I met you, I knew God was showing me the way. Every day since has been a reflection of His grace — full of love, laughter, purpose, and the kind of partnership I used to pray for. Happy Anniversary, my queen @ciara,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “You light up my life in ways words can’t explain. Here’s to the journey we’ve walked…and the one we’re still writing together. I love you, endlessly. ❤️.”
