Selling Sunset newbie Sandra Vergara is clearing the air after Chrishell Stause accused the newbie of keying her assistant’s car.
“I never keyed anybody’s car. Let’s set the record straight,” Sandra, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of season 9’s release on Wednesday, October 29. “I don’t want to bad mouth anybody because it’s against my preference in spiritual practices. I do not like to speak poorly about anybody.”
Despite not wanting to stir up drama, Sandra wanted to offer her side of the story. “I also don’t want to get in trouble. But her assistant used to be a neighbor of mine and this neighbor was a very problematic person,” the real estate agent claimed. “She was very difficult and somebody keyed her car.So she just blamed it on me. I actually have an idea of who could have been but I have nothing to do with it.”
After joining the show halfway through the season, Sandra questioned whether Chrishell, 44, had an issue with her. Chrishell subsequently revealed that she was keeping her distance after her assistant claimed Sandra keyed her car.
“I got emotional because I’m coming with an open heart. I just want to see what’s going on,” Sandra recalled to Us. “And she was upset with me about things that had nothing to do with her and brought up a neighbor of mine — which is not true. I never keyed anybody’s car.”
The newcomer also wasn’t sure what to make of Chrishell’s other onscreen claims.

“Bring them out. What are these [other] things [she has on me]? I know I’m curious,” Sandra told Us. “I definitely tried [to find out] in the reunion. She actually told me that she was finally happy — even though I never did anything to her. But she was willing to let it be water under the bridge until I guess she got upset about me saying that she made a face? So that made it awkward again.”
Selling Sunset, which debuted in 2019, follows employees at high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage the Oppenheim Group. The Netflix series boasts expensive homes, but it is the drama between the cast that keeps viewers coming back for more.
Sandra knew that she was at a bit of disadvantage coming into the show nine seasons in.
“I don’t come from that world and I am a big personality but these people had a lot of history with one another. You have to navigate [a lot]. At first, I didn’t want to watch the show because I wanted to make my own impressions. But then I’m like, ‘F*** it. I’m going to watch the show,'” she told Us. “I watched it and I understand why certain people have anger toward certain people. To me, it’s all very unnecessary. It is little things and how is that a reason for an ongoing feud? Don’t make a thing more than what it actually is.”
Sandra wished she started filming “earlier,” adding, “I came in midseason. So I just wish I was introduced before.”
The Oppenheim Group employee is looking forward to viewers seeing her side of the story. She’s also curious what her family members — including sister Sofia Vergara — think after watching season 9.
“She will tune in. But she didn’t know — because I didn’t tell anybody in my family until I filmed it. I just didn’t want to be influenced by and I just wanted to just do it just to do it,” Sandra noted. “My nephew — Sofia’s son, Manolo Vergara — is obsessed with Selling Sunset.”
Sandra continued: “One person I told is my nephew and he’s like, ‘You have to do it. You have to f***ing do it.’ And he told me his favorite [stars of the show]. I was like, ‘Manolo, don’t confuse me. Let me start fresh.'”
