Shaquille O’Neal Gives Blunt Take About Megan Thee Stallion, Klay Thompson

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal gave his blunt expectations for Megan Thee Stallion’s new relationship with basketball star, Klay Thompson.

O’Neal, 53, was asked about the rapper’s courtship with Thompson, 34, on “The Big Podcast with Shaq” on Monday, July 21. 

“Six weeks,” O’Neal said. “The line is six weeks.”

When his podcast cohost, Adam Lefkoe, asked O’Neal if he thought Megan, 30, and Thompson would last “until the fall,” he made a face and shook his head. 

O’Neal repeated, “Six weeks.”

While O’Neal had no problem giving his assessment of their relationship, podcast guest Mike Tyson was struggling to even figure out who the panel was talking about. 

“Who’s Klay Thompson, though?” Tyson, 59, asked. 

Lefkoe, 38, explained Thompson is “one of the greatest shooters of all-time.”

“Wow,” Tyson reacted, before recusing himself from giving his opinion on the couple. “I’m not gonna say nothin’,” he said. 

Megan and Thompson made their red carpet debut at the rapper’s Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City on Wednesday, July 16. 

Founded in 2022, the Pete & Thomas Foundation nonprofit focuses on supporting women, children, seniors and underserved communities in Houston, Texas, and beyond. The organization is named after her late parents, Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas.

“Megan is such a special person and she inspires so many around the world,” Thompson exclusively told Us Weekly at the event. “I’ve seen it firsthand. This is just another incredible feat of hers to be able to give back, create foundation, and raise a ton of money for those in need. And I’m honored to be here by her side.”

Thompson told Us he “would have loved to meet Holly and Joe.”

“I know both of them would be so proud of their only daughter because of what — not only what she’s been able to accomplish, what she’s also going to continue to do,” he added. “She has never been put in a box, or allowed herself to be in a box, and she just continues to inspire so many people around the world. And, on top of that, raise a ton of money this evening and just do so much for so many in need.”

Megan said both of her parents would have been thrilled about her new beau. 

“I feel like my mom would’ve been like, ‘Wow, you finally picked a nice man!’” Megan exclusively told Us at the event. “We kissed a lot of frogs, but now we got a real prince! I feel like they would be very proud. My dad would be very happy.”
