The Biggest Bombshells From the 'Love Is Blind' Season 9 Reunion: Recap

The Love Is Blind season 9 cast has reconvened once more to share what’s gone down in Denver since none of the couples ended up getting married.

“Turns out the season 9 reunion means it’ll be full of surprises, jaw-dropping revelations and, maybe if you’re lucky, a chicken smoothie,” cohost Nick Lachey began, referring to Jordan Keltner’s breakfast of choice. “I’m just saying.”

Among the revelations, “Sparkle Megan” Walerius revealed that she welcomed her first child after breaking up with Jordan.

“I don’t think I thought through how challenging it is and how I would need to make a lot of concessions to how I currently live,” Megan had said in a confessional during the finale, referring to Jordan’s life as a single parent. “Honestly, this has me questioning if I’m even cut out to be a mom. I don’t know, maybe I am too caught up in my own life.”

During the reunion, Megan revealed her change of heart and shared that she welcomed son Brooks “two and a half months ago” with her partner, Paul.

“I now know more than ever [that] I was meant on this earth to be a mom,” she said. “He’s amazing. Our family’s very happy.”

How Did Megan Meet Her New Boyfriend?

Megan welcomed her son with new partner Paul, who watched the reunion from the audience.

“We wrapped filming in April, and Paul and I got introduced through a mutual friend in July,” she explained. “We got pregnant three months into dating. We definitely had our ups and downs. I’m not gonna say it was perfect, but Paul’s been amazing and we’re happy.”

Megan further revealed that she wanted to keep her entire pregnancy private, even opting to have a phone-free baby shower.

Jordan Reacts to Megan’s Pregnancy and Birth Announcement

Jordan, who noted that he always knew that his former fiancé would make a great parent, did have a heads up about Brooks’ arrival.

“I knew. I had some disgusting person reach out to me on Instagram, pretty much trying to stir the pot,” he said. “I reached out to Megan. She was transparent, which I appreciate. If I were to find out right here, right now, I think that would have been jarring. So, I do appreciate the transparency.”

Jordan continued, “They’re gonna be great parents. I have no doubt about that.”

The rest of the cast, meanwhile, did not get the same warning before the reunion taping except for Kacie McIntosh.

Megan Reunited With Her Exes After Filming

Jordan revealed that Mike Brockway, who was Megan’s other strong pod connection, told him he went on “a couple of dates” with the wellness entrepreneur post show. Megan, however, said there still wasn’t a spark after the show.

Megan also met up with Blake Anderson, who left the experiment early, for margaritas as friends.

Kacie Gets Emotional Reuniting With Patrick

While Kacie broke up with Patrick Suzuki within hours of meeting each other face-to-face, she said at the reunion that it “broke [her] heart” rewatching her last confessional.

“I wanted to protect you. I know nobody’s gonna view it that way, but I went through this with you,” she said. “I was trying to explain that maybe in this high-pressure timeline that I don’t know if my attraction can grow to get to the aisle. I didn’t know if it could grow at our own timeline.”

Kacie also responded to Patrick’s claims that she refused to return her engagement ring.

“He told me I could keep it when we met up in the hotel lobby,” she said, which he rebuffed. “When we got back to Denver, I had texted Patrick immediately, reaching out, saying, ‘I’m thinking of you. I hope you’re doing OK.’ Patrick did want an immediate conversation.’”

A few days later, Kacie alleged that Patrick changed his tune and asked to just be friends. Patrick had the opposite perspective, stating that Kacie had “hard time” expressing the truth.

After a back and forth between them, Kacie ultimately gave the engagement ring back to Patrick, who then ended up returning to her after a friendly game of basketball hoops.  

Kacie Dated Another ‘Love Is Blind’ Cast Member

After initially playing coy about whether she explored another pod connection in Denver, she confirmed that she went on a few dates with Joe Ferrucci after Joe’s current girlfriend revealed the news earlier this month.

“I think it just, kind of, fizzled out,” Joe said of dating Kacie for a month after ending his engagement to Madison Maidenberg. “It just ultimately didn’t work out.”

Kacie, for her part, noted that neither of them were ready to date so soon after the show.

“It got too intense too quick,” she said.

Madison, meanwhile, thought that Joe and Kacie’s apparent connection “affected [her] engagement.” Joe and Kacie both denied the claims.

“If that’s why you think you broke up, that is not the case,” Joe said. “That has nothing to do with our story. That was after, and that was never in my mind when I broke it off.”

Madison still didn’t believe Joe, claiming that Kacie once told her that the two women were “Eskimo sisters.” The hairstylist, for her part, stressed that she was joking with her comment.

And then Patrick entered the chat, stating that he “had no idea” about his ex’s connection with Joe.

Joe Denies Any Relationship Overlap

While Joe has moved on with new girlfriend Averee Madison, he shut down any speculation that he dated her at the same time as Kacie.

“My relationship now was rocky for the first three months, and she didn’t want to date me,” Joe said. “There was a lot of breaking up, coming back together, breaking up, and we were off-off October as well, then we got back together and started dating in November.”

Madison point-blank revealed that she still doesn’t have clarity about why Joe called off their wedding.

“At this point, I’ve accepted that I’m not going to get a full sentence from Joe as far as what actually happened,” she said. “So, that’s OK. What I watched back was very frustrating to watch. It was very uncomfortable to watch Joe speak about my body [and] in today’s day and age, it’s unacceptable to talk about somebody in that way.”

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly earlier this month, Joe expressed remorse for his remarks about Madison’s body and apologized again at the reunion.

Nick Addresses Claims He Love-Bombed Kait and Annie

Nick Amato wholeheartedly apologized to Kait Nemunaitis, whom he broke up with in the pods, and ex-fiancée Annie Lancaster for his eerily similar compliments and confessions of love.

“I think you’re being very mature and apologetic, and I respect that,” Kait said. “Maybe it’s performative too, though? I don’t know. It’s hard to say.”

Annie took an opposite stance, believing that Nick’s comments felt “genuine” in a situation where everyone is dating multiple people at once.

Who Did Annie Text During Her Breakup?

After Nick called off his engagement, fans saw Annie type out a message to an unidentified recipient.

“I was texting my best friend Haley. It was a Thursday [and] we were trying on wedding dresses and tuxes on Saturday,” she recalled. “She was texting me, asking me if she should still come. In that moment, I felt him break up with me, so I texted her, ‘Hey, don’t book that flight.”

According to Annie, she and Nick are “friendly” in the year and a half since they parted ways.

Kait revealed that she went on a single date with Brenden Guthrie, who had a strong connection in the pods with Annie.

“It was messy when we got back to Denver, let me just say,” she said, claiming, “Everyone was dating each other, and we had all dated each other, and the boundaries were very blurred. When we had a meetup, me and Brenden connected and we ended up going on a date.”

While Kait had good feelings about their date, she later apparently saw Brenden “all over Kacie” during a group outing that same week.

“That was not even true,” Kacie said, denying the claims. “That is so false, it’s not even funny. We’re cutting that right now.”

Ali and Anton Disagree — Over Strip Clubs

While Anton Yarosh proclaimed he was “sick” over hearing about ex-fiancée Ali Lima’s concerns about him going to a strip club, Ali denied ever having that conversation with her then-fiancé.

“I had a really hard time just having a real conversation with Anton outside of the pods,” Ali said, noting that working the night shift as a nurse played a factor in their communication struggles. “It was almost as if he just wasn’t himself. I was like, ‘I don’t know who this person is in front of me. We haven’t had any serious, real deep conversations in person. Where is the man that I dated in the pods?’”

Anton, however, thought that he and Ali had multiple serious talks off-camera.

Anton Has Moved On

Megan isn’t the only member of the pod squad to bring her new partner to the reunion taping. Anton gave a shoutout to his new girlfriend, Miranda, after their yearlong romance.

“Great gal, very supportive [and] very understanding,” he said. “Just the person I’ve been really been needing in my life.”

As for Ali, she opted against sharing if she was dating anyone.

Kalybriah Felt Edmond’s Tears Were a ‘Manipulation’ Tactic

Kalybriah Haskin said that she was alright that Edmond L. Harvey was in touch with his emotions every day, but claimed that quickly went away after the pods and were replaced with a “butthole” in its place.

“For the manipulation part of it, I don’t want to manipulate anybody,” Edmond said, denying the accusations. “I want to be able to speak from my heart and how I’m feeling. For me, speaking from my heart and how I’m feeling is being taken as manipulation, so that’s gonna make me afraid to be open and vulnerable.”

He continued, “It just hurts hearing her say that. I don’t think I’m trying to be like that. I think it’s coming off like that, but I need you to understand that I wouldn’t make the same mistake again.”

Edmond further stressed that he “chose KB every day.”

“I would try and talk to her, and she would just need her space,” he said, eliciting laughter from the other women. “I gotta respect that.”

The pair closed out the special by embracing for a polite hug.
