Rosie Roche‘s untimely death made headlines due to her connection to the British royal family.
U.K’s The Sun was first to report on Monday, July 21, that Rosie was found dead in her Norton home days prior. Rosie was said to be packing for a trip with friends on July 14 when her body was discovered by her mother and sister.
The local coroner told The Sun that authorities “have deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement.” However, an investigation into her death was later opened. The outlet deported that the inquiry was “adjourned until October 25.”

How Did Rosie Roche Die?
Multiple U.K. outlets reported on July 22 that Roche died from a “traumatic head injury.”
The Yorkshire Post published Rosie’s obituary, revealing that “a memorial service will be held at a later date” and a “private family funeral” will be held. The obituary referred to Rosie as the “darling daughter” of Hugh and Pippa and an “incredible sister” to Archie and Agatha. The only grandparents listed were named Derek and Rae Long.
Was Rosie Roche a Student?
Rosie was studying English Literature at Durham University prior to her death. A professor at the school released a statement to The Sun after news of Rosie’s passing.
“University College staff and students are extremely saddened by the tragic death of Rosie Roche,” the statement read, noting that the student “had lots of friends” at school. “She was loved for her creativity, energy, her love of books, poetry and travel among many other talents. She will be sorely missed.”
The statement concluded: “Our thoughts and condolences are with Rosie’s family and friends, and we are offering support to those affected at this extremely difficult time.”
