Why Savannah Chrisley Would ‘Object’ Chase’s Wedding to Jodi Fournerat

Savannah Chrisley and Nanny Faye attempted to have a “come to Jesus” moment about Chase Chrisley’s girlfriend, Jodi Laine Fournerat, during The Chrisleys: Back to Reality.

“I’m gonna give Jodi the benefit of the doubt. We got to give her a chance,” Nanny, 82, said during the Tuesday, September 9, episode of the Lifetime docuseries. “If Chase decides to marry her, we are gonna have to go to the wedding.”

Savannah, 28, replied, “Nanny, no. I don’t have to go. No I’m not. If you want me to go then they’ll say, ‘Does anyone object?’ I’d say, ‘I do.’”

Nanny told Savannah that she hasn’t “given [Jodi] a chance,” during her relationship with Chase, 29.

“I don’t have to give nobody a chance,” Savannah replied.

Nanny disagreed because Chase has “already” asked Jodi’s father for permission to propose.

“That shows you how stupid he is,” Savannah said. “He doesn’t even have his life together. He lives with his grandparents. So, you’re supposed to get married and live with your grandparents? It’s the dumbest s*** I’ve ever heard.”

Savannah was referred to the apartment Chase and Jodi share with Julie Chrisley’s parents, Harvey and Pam Hughes. (Elsewhere in the episode, Harvey and Pam questioned if Chase was ready to get married.)

Savannah quipped that she would “make a deal” with Nanny as their conversation continued.

“You just hang out with her enough for the both of us,” she continued. “I don’t even hang out with my own brother, I’m not going to hang out with her.”

When Nanny said she feels bad for Chase, Savannah wondered why her grandmother was “encouraging” him to propose. (In her confessional, Savannah told viewers that Chase has a “hard time with perception vs. reality.”)

“Nanny, she moved here and she has lived here for, what, a year? And has no job,” Savannah added. Nanny did understand where Savannah was coming from.

“She had a great job in New Orleans and when she got tied up with Chase, Jodi gave up her job and moved to Nashville,” Nanny said. “Give her some time, she’s in love.”

Chase and Jodi took their relationship public in November 2023. At the time, she lived in Louisiana. During her confessional on Tuesday’s episode, Jodi explained that she and Chase decided to “give up the long distance,” so she relocated. With her move, Jodi gave up her job as a doctor’s assistant in laser tech.

Grayson Chrisley missed the lunch conversation between Savannah and Nanny because he was on the phone, but weighed in when he returned, calling Chase’s potential proposal the “dumbest decision he’s ever made.”

Grayson, 19, further shared his thoughts during his own confessional.

“I think it’s an awful idea and you’re rushing into it. You propose to somebody but you live in an apartment with your grandparents. And it makes you question her, also,” he said. “If you’re OK with a man not trying to better himself, not trying to better a life for both of you, then that’s an issue. You’re also not working on top of it? That’s just the blind leading the blind.

“He needs to go and get his life on the right track and be in a healthy and whole place with himself before he even thinks about getting married to this girl,” Savannah continued. “What’s gonna happen is she’s gonna end up pregnant and that’s why there’s so many screwed up people in this world is because parents bring children into this world when they’re not even whole themself.”

The Chrisleys: Back to Reality airs its season finale on Lifetime Tuesday, September 16.
