Zendaya has turned 29!

The movie star took to Instagram on Monday, September 1, and posted a throwback photo of herself as a little girl riding a merry-go-round.

“Just coming on here to say how grateful I am for another year of life and for all of you for making it so beautiful,” she wrote in a caption. “Thank you so so much for all of the love and warm wishes….as always, here’s to (the official last year of my twenties, literally wth) 29 🫶🏽Z.”

Zendaya’s friends and fans celebrated with her in the comments section.

“Happy birthday ❤️❤️❤️,” wrote Jason Momoa, while Dove Cameron remarked, “happy birthday angel.”

A fan reassured the actress and fashion icon that “the 30’s is where it’s at! 😍❤️ happy birthday!!!”

Zendaya was just a kid when she landed her first TV role on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up, which aired from 2010 to 2013. She eventually graduated to movies, making her film debut in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, where she met her future fiancé Tom Holland. She later appeared in the Spider-Man sequels as well as The Greatest Showman, Challengers and the Dune sci-fi franchise.

In 2021, Zendaya became the youngest Emmy winner in her category when she, at age 24, won Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as teen drug addict Rue Bennett on HBO’s Euphoria.

Us Weekly confirmed earlier this year that Zendaya and Holland, also 29, were newly engaged after several years of dating. She had sparked engagement rumors at the 2025 Golden Globes by showing up to the red carpet with a diamond ring on her left hand.

Holland popped the question over the 2024 holiday season.

“Tom figured the holidays were the best time to propose in a very low-key way,” a source exclusively told Us in January. “She didn’t want anything over the top.”

The insider added that Holland “wanted to propose because he feels he is at the right time in his life and feels ready to settle down. They had many conversations over the years, but there was never any pressure. Zendaya is giddy and excited. She knew it might have been coming but never put pressure on it.”

The busy couple have yet to start planning their walk down the aisle.

“The process hasn’t even started yet,” Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, told E! News in July. “Zendaya is working on so many movies. She’s now filming the next iteration of Dune, so she’s away doing that. It’s so many movies, so we have time. We have a lot of time.”
