September is bringing some of the most unforgettable thrillers to your favorite streaming platforms, and Watch With Us has you covered.
Whether you’re in the mood for gritty crime, psychological suspense or a chilling classic, this month’s lineup offers something for every kind of thriller fan.
Whether you prefer to stream your movies on Netflix, Peacock or HBO Max, there’s a suspenseful, twist-filled option for you.
Keep scrolling for three thrillers you absolutely need to watch before the month ends.
‘The Departed’ (2006)
Cops! Mobsters! Twists! Boston accents! The Departed has it all. Directed by Martin Scorsese, this excellent crime thriller will be on Netflix until the end of the month — so if you haven’t streamed it, now’s the perfect time. The movie follows two double agents on opposite sides of the law — Leonardo DiCaprio as Trooper William “Billy” Costigan Jr., a young cop sent undercover into a mob organization, and Matt Damon as Colin Sullivan, a criminal who is groomed by mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson) to become his eyes on the police force.
As each organization becomes more aware of its security breaches, Costigan and Sullivan circle each other, never knowing who they can trust and questioning their own loyalties along the way.
The Departed is available to stream on Netflix.
‘Psycho’ (1960)
Check into the Bates Motel, because Psycho, one of the Alfred Hitchcock thrillers that set the standard for the genre, is now streaming on Peacock. The suspenseful movie follows Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), a woman on the run after stealing money from her employer.
When Marion stops for the night at a motel run by the sweet but nervous Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), she is murdered — kicking off a chain of events that will change Norman’s life forever.
Psycho is a classic for a reason, and you should definitely take advantage of its new availability on Peacock.
Psycho is available to stream on Peacock.
‘Misery’ (1990)
This psychological horror thriller film was recently added to the HBO Max library, and we’re psyched (and a little scared) to see it there. Misery won Kathy Bates an Oscar for her role as Annie Wilkes, an obsessive super-fan of novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) who takes him captive on a snowy night. Unhappy with the end of his latest novel, she forces him to write a new one.
A terrifying story of fandom gone horribly wrong, Misery is based on a novel by Stephen King, and it features all the suspense, intrigue and chills you’d expect from his work.
