Amanda Seyfried and Julia Roberts are making Us do a double take.
Seyfried, 39, attended the photocall for her film Testament of Ann Lee during the Venice International Film Festival on Monday, September 1, rocking an oversized blazer, striped yellow button-up and a pair of high waisted dark denim jeans. She accessoried the look with a black belt and open-toed heels. For glam, she styled her blonde hair in loose waves, which were tucked into the back of the blazer, and kept her makeup looking natural.
The ensemble was undoubtedly chic — so chic, in fact, it was worn by Roberts, 57, at her Friday, August 29, After the Hunt photo call in Venice just three days prior. While Roberts opted for closed-toe brown leather pumps over Seyfried’s strappy sandals, the actresses’ styled everything else similarly — down to their hair and rolled-up sleeves.
The “twinsies” moment was no unplanned fashion faux pas. After Roberts wore the look first, the women’s shared stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, uploaded a photo of the Notting Hill star via Instagram. Seyfried immediately fell in love with the outfit, writing in the comments section, “Please let me wear the same outfit.”
Stewart obliged, and the handover was officially set in motion. Steward later shared a picture of Seyfried via Instagram rocking the look while confirming that Roberts was more than OK with lending the clothes to Seyfried.
“Thank you @juliaroberts for your generosity and sustainability 😉 Sharing is caring! ❤️,” Stewart captioned the image. “#AmandaSeyfried borrows Julia’s @versace photo call look for her own photo call. Thank you #DarioVitale [artistic director of Versace].”
Roberts gave her stamp of approval in the comments section, writing, “😍Amanda😍.”
Fans of Roberts and Seyfried wasted no time gushing over the sweet female-empowered exchange. “YESSS!!! Pretty Woman, Pretty Giving!!! LOVE THIS! Both Julia, so generous, like her smile! And Amanda for her fearlessness in repeating it!!! Sustainability at its BEST!,” one person wrote.
Another added, “This is the CHICEST! Sisterhood of the traveling @versace,” referencing the 2005 movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which followed four best friends with different body types who shared one pair of pants while embarking on their various summer adventures.
A third person pointed out Roberts and Seyfried wearing the same look “sends a wonderful important age inclusive message: That different ages can absolutely wear and look fab in the same looks and appeal across generations 👏.”
