Danica Patrick may be living in the mountains of Colorado, but she couldn’t stay out of the desert for long.
The former professional race car driver made her way to Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for the week-long man festival, which ran from August 24 to September 1.
As a Burning Man regular, Patrick, 43, was clad in the appropriate attire, including bikinis of all colors, a golden crown and just the right amount of face paint.
She shared it all via her Instagram Story on Sunday, August 31, starting with a group photo with her friends in front of one of the many Burning Man installations.
“Burn Baby! So fun to see the friends I have made over the last 4 years!” she wrote over the image. On the next slide, she warned followers, “Quick Burning Man Photo Dump.”
Each photo and video that followed showed that, despite retiring in 2018, the most celebrated woman driver in the sport’s history is still in peak condition.
Most outfits showed off her abs because, hey, they’re in the desert and it’s hot outside. In one photo, she is seen wearing a dark blue top with golden jewelry and a white skirt. Behind her is the Afterlife Reincarnate installation, which is “an ethereal and whimsical dreamland beyond our lifetime. A portal of transition between living and dead,” according to the piece’s official Facebook page.
In another pic, Patrick is wearing all gold — from her dress to her spiked crown — as a friend in a matching bikini rides a bike behind her. A later photo shows the outfit is entirely backless and is punctuated by all white shoes, socks and underwear.
This was a different Burning Man experience for Patrick compared to her outing last year. The former IndyCar Series driver turned heads at the 2024 edition when she posted photos of herself kissing an unidentified man. It was the first time she appeared to go public with a love interest since her split with Carter Comstock in 2022.
“In dust we trust. 🌪️,” Patrick captioned her photos from the 2024 festival. “That week of the year 80,000 of us drive out to the middle of nowhere Nevada to live in an alternate reality where the currency is hugs, love and helping each other. ❤️.”
“I have never seen a better fireworks show than the night they burned the man,” she wrote in another post. “What a wild week of beautiful skies, cool art, hot days, cold nights, DJs from 5pm to 8am, weird sleeping hours and amazing people waiting for you no matter what hours you are awake! 🙏🏼”
