ATF Price Cut: Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices were reduced with effect from Monday. The magnitude ofthe cut -- the first downward revision in two months -- was 1.4 per cent in the four metro cities: New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
In New Delhi, the price of aviation turbine fuel -- commonly known as jet fuel -- was decreased by Rs 1,308.41 per kilolitre, or 1.4 per cent, to Rs 90,713.52 per kl, according to the IOC website.
In dollar terms, the new ATF price in the national capital stood at $795.10 per kl.
The price reduction followed two back-to-back months of hikes.
In August, the price was hiked by Rs 2,677.88 per kilolitre, or 2.9 per cent, to Rs 92,021.93 per kl in New Delhi.
The hikes in July and August amounted to more than 10 per cent cumulatively.
Fuel costs mark the lion's share of airlines' operating costs.
