Big Sean Responds to Speculation He Had Ab Implants

Big Sean is shutting down speculation that he had ab implants.

On Monday, July 7, fitness influencer Blake Sanburg posted an Instagram video which appeared to investigate whether Sean had gone under the knife. Sanburg compared recent shirtless photos of Sean, 37, to photos taken in 2015 and speculated that the star might have had an ab etching procedure. He captioned the post, “Are big Sean’s abs real?”

The post caught the attention of the “I Don’t F**k With You” rapper, who hopped into the comments section of Sanburg’s post on Wednesday, July 9, to set the record straight.

“Bro, unfortunately mine are real lol. I got love for the fake [ab] community tho, to each its own, but what makes this funnier is this is the way God made me,” Sean, 37, wrote.

“I just happen to look like a chewed up tootsie roll when im outta shape lol. But i can only speak for myself. I only have to say something cause this s**t is getting way outta hand 😂.”

The musician — real name Sean Michael Leonard Anderson — reiterated his stance with two further comments under Sanburg’s post: “So just to be clear” and “No nothing.”

In a follow-up video posted Wednesday, Sanburg revealed that Sean also slid into his DMs and shared a screenshot of their exchange.

“I commented on your video,” Sean wrote Sanburg. “This s**t is funny cause that’s the way I was made. I just gained dad weight n had to crack down on working out as I got older bro.”

The “Bounce Back” rapper added, “So my body has gone thru a lot. No surgery though. Can’t believe I have to explain myself.”

Sean welcomed his first child, son Noah Hasani, 2, with singer Jhené Aiko in November 2022. Aiko also shares daughter Namiko, 16, with singer O’Ryan.

As well as his body, Sean opened up to People in April 2024 about how else becoming a father has changed him.

“He’s changed me in so many ways, honestly. But one of the ways that has really been a lesson that I’m still learning is to be even more intentional with everything,” he said. “And just being in the moment. Even in nature. Like, on our walks. It’s definitely a learning process. I’m only 17 months in.”

Sean also said that he was now seeing the world through Noah’s eyes.

“It’s funny how they end up being the teachers,” the rapper mused. “Even though you’re there to guide and teach them, they teach you. That’s something I really appreciate.”
