President Droupadi Murmu will attend a special screening of Anupam Kher’s new directorial Tanvi The Great at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre (RBCC) in New Delhi on Friday (July 11), the makers shared. The film, which has won acclaim abroad, narrates the inspiring story of a young girl on the autism spectrum, who resolves to join the Army. The film stars debutant Shubhangi Dutt alongside prominent actors like Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Arvind Swamy, and Kher himself.

“I am deeply honoured to present our film, Tanvi The Great, to our Honourable President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu,” Kher said in a statement. “As a film centred on autism and the Indian Army, who better to showcase this film, than the commander in chief of the armed forces. As a leader she embodies resilience, grace, and trailblazing leadership. We are all eagerly looking forward to her experiencing the film.”

Shubhangi, Tanvi, Karan Tacker, Boman Irani, co-writers Ankur and Abhishek and members of the technical team will be present at the screening in New Delhi.

Recently, the film received a standing ovation when it was screened at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune. The screening was attended by 2,500 NDA cadets, the makers said.

Distributed by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Movies, Tanvi The Great will release in cinemas on July 18, 2025.
