Chase Chrisley Through the Years: A Look Back at His Ups and Downs

9 hours ago 1

Chase Chrisley grew up on Chrisley Knows Best — and fans have continued to watch him throughout his life despite his ups and downs.

Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley welcomed their oldest son, Chase, in June 1996. The couple, who tied the knot in May 1996, went on to welcome Savannah Chrisley in 1997 followed by Grayson Chrisley in 2006. (Todd also shares daughter Lindsie and son Kyle with ex-wife Teresa Terry.)

The family, including Chase, appeared on the USA Network reality series Chrisley Knows Best from 2014 to 2023. In addition to Chrisley Knows Best, Chase and Savannah also landed their own spinoff series, Growing Up Chrisley, which ran from 2019 to 2022.

“It definitely changed our lives entirely,” Chase told People in July 2020 in regard to growing up on a reality show. “It forced us to grow up fast. I know I’ve made my fair share of mistakes, and learning how to bounce back and just grow from each mistake, it’s a little bit different because every time we screw up it’s in the public eye.”

The Chrisley family endured even more criticism from the public after Todd and Julie were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in June 2022. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison and 16 months probation while Julie was sentenced to seven years in prison and 16 months probation. After reporting to prison in January 2023, the pair were pardoned by President Donald Trump in May 2025.

“I am grateful to God and extremely grateful to President Trump and his entire administration,” Chase said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time.

Chase began dating Emmy Medders. That same year, Chase launched his own candle collection.

“Candles have always been a passion of mine, I got it from my mama,” he told Us in February 2021. “When I was growing up my mom always had amazing candles lit and really did control the mood of the room.”

October 2022

Despite a brief break, Chase and Emmy announced their engagement in October 2022. Chase and Emmy eventually split for good in July 2023.

Chase finally broke his silence on Todd and Julie’s prison sentences.

“I don’t owe the public an explanation,” he shared on Savannah’s “Unlocked” podcast. “I don’t need to explain how I feel to anybody, other than the people I care about and I love. Obviously, what we have been going through is hell, it is a terrible, terrible situation, but I have to try and find the good, even in the darkest time.”

Shortly after calling it quits with Emmy, Chase started dating Jodi Laine Fournerat after meeting through mutual friends.

“We met through mutual friends, and then I went on her Instagram, and just liked a bunch of pictures back, to back, to back, to back, to back, to back. And she called me out for it on her Story,” Chase recalled to People in July 2025. “And I was like, ‘The hell is wrong with you? Why would you do that?’ The rest is history. We hung out, and it’s literally been history ever since.”

According to a police report obtained by Us, officers from the Atlanta Police Department responded to a call at a sports bar where an employee alleged he was assaulted by Chase. The alleged victim claimed that Chase “became really drunk” while inside the bar and began to “act very disrespectful and belligerent.”

When Chase was asked to leave the establishment, the employee claimed that Chase “refused to leave and started acting more belligerent.”

The police report stated that the victim accused Chase of slapping him in the face twice. The employee did not have any injuries and refused medical attention.

Chase was booked on a charge of misdemeanor simple battery before being released on a $10,000 bond.

February 2025

Chase denied the allegations to the Daily Mail, claiming that the situation was “blown out of proportion.” Chase’s publicist alleged that the employee opted not to “press charges.”

“I didn’t slap that dude in Atlanta. That didn’t happen,” he explained. “If I was gonna put my hands on somebody I would get my money’s worth. I wouldn’t just get a slap. I might have been talking s*** and so was the other guy but I didn’t put my hands on him. If I wasn’t who I was that wouldn’t have been a situation.”

Following his run-in with the law, Chase shared on social media that he was nearly one month sober.

“Almost one month alcohol free, feeling better than I have in years,” he wrote via Instagram. “God is good #sober #sobriety.”

May 2025

After his parents were pardoned by Trump, Chase thanked the president and his “entire administration.”

“I’m beyond thankful to finally have my parents back home and my family together again!” he said in a statement to Us.

During the Chrisley’s new Lifetime series, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, Chase opened up about several things in his life including his recent arrest and drinking problem.

“After my parents went away, when I started drinking, I would just go and go and go and go,” he said. “[I] wasn’t setting any boundaries for myself and didn’t really have anybody to tell me no.”

While Chase admitted he didn’t “remember a lot” from his alleged assault incident, he insisted he “wouldn’t slap somebody.”

“Everybody there says I didn’t put my hands on anybody, but I mean, it ended up with me with a mugshot. I think I kinda just hit rock bottom,” he explained, noting that he had been “drinking heavily.”

In another episode of the Lifetime show, Chase got candid about his health.

“Within the last year, I’ve lost a lot of weight. My body is just, like, rejecting food. Something’s going on. It sucks. I mean, it’s absolutely miserable,” he said.

Later on in the episode, Chase shared that doctors are “gonna run” several tests on him.

“They’re gonna run some tests to see if my gallbladder’s working. And then run tests to see if my stomach’s working,” he said. “And if those are working, they’re gonna do a CT scan to see if I have a brain tumor.”
