From Pretty Little Liars and The Lord Of the Rings to Mamma Mia and Game of Thrones, a handful of cast members celebrated their time together by getting ink as meaningful as it is cool.
Take Amanda Seyfried, who got matching tattoos with her Mamma Mia! costars Rachel McDowall and Ashley Lilley. After filming the music in 2008, they got “minge” inked onto their feet in 2014.
Seyfried revealed the meaning behind their artwork — which also happens to be her Instagram handle, @mingey — during a 2018 episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers.
“It’s a term of endearment,” she explained. “In England, it means ‘vagina,’ but in the U.S., which is where I spend most of my time, it just doesn’t mean anything. So, we commemorated our friendship with ‘minge’ tattoos.”
Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams also celebrated their on-screen sisterhood with meaningful Game of Thrones tattoos inspired by their bold and iconic characters in 2018.

Kit Connor explained on an April episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that he and his Warfare costars, including Noah Centineo, Joseph Quinn and Will Poulter, got matching tattoos that read, “Call on Me.”
Connor explained that he got it on the inside of his arm, because he wanted to be able to “hide it” if necessary.
Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, Josh Gad, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, director Peter Jackson and cowriter Philippa Boyens all showed off their matching tattoos during a Zoom call in June 2020. Days before wrapping up the franchise, the actors got tattoos that read “nine” in the Rings’ Elvish language.
Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner honored their time on Game of Thrones by getting matching ink on their arms in June 2018. Williams, for her part, got “No One” tattooed on her arm, a nod to what her character, Arya Stark, was believed to think of herself during her assassin training. Turner, who portrayed Sansa Stark on the show, got the date that she and Williams were cast as sisters etched into the same spot. “07.08.09,” the artwork read.
Kaley Cuoco and Zosia Mamet both got a paper airplane flying on their feet to celebrate their long hours working on The Flight Attendant together in October 2020.

Margot Robbie took it upon herself to give her fellow Suicide Squad cast members, including Will Smith and Cara Delevingne, matching tattoos in 2016. Each of the actors have “Skwad” inked into them.
After wrapping the final season of their show, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Troian Bellisario, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse got their characters’ initials inked into their index fingers in 2016.
“We couldn't not get tattoos to commemorate the show! And obviously on our 'shh' finger," Hale captioned a pic of them via Instagram.
