David Beckham Channels Inner Meghan Markle, Shows Off Homemade 'Beckjam'

Meghan Markle is not the only celebrity with an affinity for making jam — and David Beckham might be (respectfully) taking her crown.

“So, we’ve had a weekend of cooking,” David’s wife, Victoria Beckham, said in a Sunday, September 7, video shared via her Instagram Stories. “Well, you have. I’ve been watching. You’ve been making lots of jam using the plums [from our garden].”

Victoria, 51, then asked David, 50, to show her followers what he made because he’s “been very proud” of his handiwork.

“David Beckjam,” Victoria quipped, reading aloud a labeled jar of preserves that featured a pun of their last name.

David, for his part, succinctly joked that the title was “original” before the fashion designer wanted to know “how many” jars had been assembled so far.

“Look, he’s even got his little label machine out,” Victoria quipped, as David rifled through a cooler and pulled out even more jars. “David Beckjam 1, 2 [and] we’ve got a whole … lot. I love you! You’re quite the entrepreneur?”

David, however, retorted “no” in response that he’s a budding jam salesman.

Meghan, 43, for her part, started making homemade jam in 2024 under the label American Riviera Orchard. She later changed the brand’s name to As Ever.

“I had secured As Ever as a name in 2022, and then as everything started to evolve last year, and bringing in a partner the size that it was, it was just so interesting,” the Duchess of Sussex recalled on an April episode of her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast. “You remember, I said, ‘I like American Riviera as an umbrella,’ and then be able to have verticals beneath it. And maybe have the ‘Orchard’ really small.”

Meghan continued, “Suddenly, it became this word salad. I didn’t love that so much. I was like, ‘OK, let’s go back to the thing that I’ve always loved. Let’s use the name that I protected for a reason that had sort of been under wraps.’ Then, we were able to focus in the quiet and put our heads down and build on something that no one was sniffing around to even see about. It was really just helpful to have that quiet period.”

Long before Meghan started selling her As Ever goodies, she gave filled jam jars away to celebrity friends, including Abigail Spencer, Serena Williams and Kris Jenner.

“It was just, ‘Let me share them,” she said on a season 1 episode of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. “And then people started to take it very personally.”
