Taylor Swift fans have been gifted another variant of her upcoming album.

Target announced on Sunday, September 7, that it will carry three exclusive CD packages of Swift’s highly anticipated upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. Fans can buy the It’s Frightening, It’s Rapturous or It’s Beautiful album edition — or all three, of course.

The records will be available on Friday, October 3.

Swift, 35, announced the upcoming release of her new album during an appearance on the “New Heights” podcast, alongside fiancé Travis Kelce and her future brother-in-law Jason Kelce, on August 12. The Life of a Showgirl is her 12th studio album.

“So I wanted to show you something,” Swift told the pair before she picked up a case with her initials stamped on the front in orange font. She opened up the case and pulled out the record while she explained, “This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”

Swift also updated her website at 12:12 a.m. to replace a countdown that included graphics indicating a vinyl, cassette and CD with poster. Each graphic was covered by a sparkly orange lock, a reference to the dominant color being paired with the record.

The record brings back producers Shellback and Max Martin, who last worked with Swift on 2017’s Reputation, and who have also worked with Britney Spears and Ariana Grande.

The trio first collaborated on Swift’s 2012 release Red and cowrote three songs — “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “22” — that are still considered to be her first major pop hits after she transitioned from country music.

Swift also tapped Shellback to help her rerecord 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version).

Travis, 35, and Jason, 37, aren’t the only Kelces excited about the release — their father, Ed Kelce, also reacted to the news during an August 13 interview with Australia’s Today.

“I knew nothing about this announcement,” Ed confessed. “I knew at some point the boys wanted to get her on the podcast, but I didn’t know when it was coming up.”

He did note that Swift has definitely been working since the conclusion of her Eras Tour in December 2024.

“I know Taylor’s been working pretty hard since she stopped the tour,” he explained. “She’s taken some breaks to watch some football games, but she’s been out in L.A. working on this album.”

Ed added, “My guess is that, although I haven’t heard anything, it’s going to be like everything else she does. It’s going to be beautiful.”
