‘G.D.N’: R Madhavan’s first look as GD Naidu from upcoming biopic out

We had previously reported that acclaimed actor R Madhavan is playing Indian inventor and engineer GD Naidu in an upcoming biopic titled G.D.N. Now, on Sunday (October 26), the makers unveiled the first look of Madhavan as the scientist.

The motion poster unveiled by the makers shows Madhavan as Naidu, a short and bald elderly scientist, soldering metal at his workshop. GD Naidu is a self-taught engineer and industrial pioneer who was often called the ‘Edison of India’

The upcoming biopic film will be directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar. The cast of the film also features Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Thambi Ramaiah, and Vinay Rai in pivotal roles. Earlier reports stated that actor Yogi Babu is also part of the film, however, the makers are yet to confirm the same.

G.D.N has music scored by Govind Vasantha and cinematography by Aravind Kamalanathan. The film is bankrolled by Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan of Varghese Moolan Pictures and R Madhavan and Sarita Madhavan of Tricolour Films.

Notably, the banners had previously joined hands to produce Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, the biopic of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. The film starring Madhavan in the titular role — the actor also directed the film — won the National Award for Best Feature Film in 2022.
