Sophie Turner Fangirls Over Chris Martin in Resurfaced Clip Amid Dating Rumors

Sophie Turner appeared starstruck over Chris Martin in a resurfaced video amid rumors that the pair are dating.

In a clip published by the Daily Mail on Sunday, October 26, Turner’s ex-husband, Joe Jonas, surprised her with a video of Martin, 48. The video began with Jonas, 36, handing a phone to Turner as he explained, “I have someone who wants to say happy birthday.”

As Turner saw the video, she placed her hands over her face and exclaimed, “Chris Martin!”

“This is Chris from Coldplay. I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band,” Martin said in the video, as Turner interjected to add, “No.”

“I hope you are having the best day,” Martin continued. “I send you all my love and I hope you’re having a great time. Thanks for being awesome, bye.”

Before the video came to a close, Martin blew a kiss for the camera. Turner, meanwhile, shared that she was “not going to cry on camera” as she placed her hands in her face and handed the phone back. Turner and Jonas then shared a high-five.

The outlet reported on Saturday, October 25, that Turner and Martin went on a “secret date.”

Us Weekly reached out to Martin and Turner’s reps for comment.

Turner was previously married to Jonas from 2019 until their split in 2023. The exes share daughter Willa, whom they welcomed in 2020, and a second daughter, who was born in July 2022.

Jonas, for his part, has been candid about coparenting with Turner since their divorce.

“They have an incredible mom. I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I’m really grateful for,” Jonas said while speaking with Jay Shetty onstage during the podcaster’s “On Purpose” Live tour earlier this year. “Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.”

After her relationship with Jonas, Turner initially moved on with British aristocrat Peregrine “Perry” Pearson. The twosome were first linked in 2023.

Martin, meanwhile, has been in a few high-profile relationships himself. The Coldplay frontman tied the knot with Gwyneth Paltrow in 2003, welcoming daughter Apple and son Moses in 2004 and 2006, respectively. After more than a decade of marriage, Paltrow, now 53, infamously shared that she and Martin were undergoing a “conscious uncoupling.” She filed for divorce in 2015, which was finalized more than a year later.

Martin has also dated Annabelle Wallis from 2015 to 2017 and Dakota Johnson since 2017. A source exclusively told Us in 2024 that Martin and Johnson, 36, had been “engaged for a while now” but opted to not make a “huge public announcement because they try to keep their relationship as private as possible.”

“They’re not in a huge rush to get married and don’t have a final wedding date set just yet,” the insider shared at the time.

News broke in June that Martin and Johnson had reportedly split. Us Weekly reached out to Martin and Johnson’s reps for comment at the time.
