Government issues amendment to gold hallmarking regulations

The government on Saturday, August 1, issued an official order amending the Hallmarking of Gold Jewellery and Gold Artefacts Order, 2020.

According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the amendment has been made by the central government in exercise of powers under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, following consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
