India announces 5,841 MT sugar export quota to EU for 2025-26

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced an export quota of 5,841 metric tonnes (MT) of sugar to the European Union (EU) for the year 2025-26. This allocation, under the EU's Tariff-Rate Quota (TRQ) system, permits preferential exports from India for the period of October 2025 to September 2026.

As per the notification, the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) will manage the quota's implementation. Exporters will need to obtain a Certificate of Origin to be eligible for the preferential terms.
