Independence Day 2025: When and where to watch PM Modi's live speech on August 15; check how to book tickets

This year, India will be celebrating its 79th Independence Day. Every year on August 15th, we celebrate the historic moment in 1947 when the nation became free from British rule. The day is marked by flag hoisting ceremonies, patriotic speeches, cultural programs, and many other programs.

The main event is celebrated at the Red Fort, where PM Modi hoists the Tricolour and addresses the nation. This will be Modi's second address to the country since returning to power for the third consecutive term.

PM Modi's live speech timings

The ceremony starts at 7.30 AM with the official address. It usually begins with dignitaries extending cordial greetings, then a 21-gun salute and the energetic Jana Gana Mana music, which is frequently accompanied by a shower of flowers from Indian Air Force helicopters above.
