Fans are absolutely loving Jennifer Love Hewitt’s fiery new hair color as she promotes her latest project.
The actress, 46, rocked her ginger locks on the red carpet at the premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer on Monday, July 14, pairing the look with a black ensemble. She opted to wear her hair straight, highlighting the various streaks of red hues.
Hewitt was joined by some of her costars, including Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon and Gabbriette, as she posed for photos in her glamorous look with all eyes on her gorgeous tresses. Many fans took to social media to praise the actress for her bold hair color, with one person on X calling it “amazing.”
She previously gave her followers a glimpse of her new ‘do in a video posted via Instagram on June 21.
“Just doing day to day things and waiting for I Know What You Did Last Summer to come out July 18th! 🪝🪝🪝🪝🪝#ıknowwhatyoudidlastsummer,” she captioned the clip, which showed her doing chores around her home as a masked figure stood and ominously watched her in the background.
As for her appearance in I Know What You Did Last Summer, she initially wasn’t sold on the idea of reprising her role of Julie James in the legacy sequel.
“I was hesitant at first. I wanted to make sure that she fit into the movie in the right way and that there was a reason for her to come back besides just the ‘90s nostalgia moment,” Hewitt told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. “I wanted her part in the movie to matter and for the audience to feel like they were proud of who she has become.”
She also teased a shocking ending to the film.

“I will say that in thinking about it and watching the other movies before filming this new one, [the ending] makes sense,” Hewitt said.
Hewitt took to Instagram to show off some of her I Know What You Did Last Summer merch, including a pullover sweatshirt with IKWYDLS printed on the front and a matching hat.
Prior to going red for the summer, Hewitt previously sported brunette hair with blonde streaks. She wore the look while starring as Maddie Han in 9-1-1 beginning in season 2.
