Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald’s family has grown again with the arrival of their sixth baby.
“When baby was born and everything was OK, I just sobbed like a baby. I just cried,” Duggar said in a YouTube video uploaded on Monday, August 4, announcing the child’s birth. “We both cried. The baby’s crying, I’m crying. It was such a beautiful moment and we’re so thankful.”
Duggar gave birth to her little on Saturday, August 2. She added the “overall” it was not a long labor for her as it lasted “7.5 hours.” Her mom was by her side for the delivery.
The reality star did not share the name or gender of her baby and teased both will be revealed in her next video.
Duggar and Seewald tied the knot in November 2014 and went on to welcome son Spurgeon in November 2015, son Henry in February 2017, daughter Ivy in May 2019, daughter Fern in July 2021 and son George in December 2023.
In March, Duggar announced that she was expecting the couple’s sixth baby. “Halfway to holding you in our arms! 💞,” she captioned sonogram images shared via Instagram at the time.
Five months earlier, Duggar shut down speculation that she was pregnant after sharing a family portrait on the beach. “So grateful for these blessings,” she wrote via Instagram in September 2024.
When a social media user commented that Duggar “look[ed] pregnant” in the picture, she replied, “Not pregnant. Just too much ice cream on vacation. 😆.”
Jessa is the fifth eldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, whose family rose to fame on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting. The reality show aired from 2008 to 2015, and following its cancellation, Jessa and her sister Jill Duggar starred on the spinoff Counting On from 2015 to 2020.
Although Jessa was raised with 18 siblings, she opened up exclusively to Us Weekly in July 2020 about the unique aspects of adjusting to motherhood.
“I think there were so many things that I felt like, ‘I totally know how to do this. I’ve been around kids,’ but then when it’s your own kid, it’s totally different,” she explained. “For one, it’s your responsibility, it’s not like, ‘Here, Mom, the kid stinks, change the diaper.’ Waking up in the night, I think that was probably one of the hugest adjustments for me. Feeling that responsibility of checking on their fever and making sure they’re OK. Like, when do I know to go to the doctor?”
Jessa has also been forthcoming about how she and Seewald juggle their relationship with their roles as parents.

“Having alone time when you have two young kids doesn’t just happen,” she exclusively told Us in July 2018, revealing that the pair have a standing date night. “We have to be purposeful.”
With their demanding schedules, sometimes Jessa and Ben reconnect over takeout after their kids go to bed.
“It’s great because our conversations can go long and you’re not on a time-clock with a babysitter or wondering if the baby’s bedtime routine went smoothly,” she noted. “It’s a good fit for us at this time in our lives.”
