Karlie Kloss Reacts to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Engagement

Karlie Kloss is showing no signs of bad blood after Taylor Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce.

Hours after Swift, 35, confirmed via Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, that she is engaged, Kloss, 33, subtly reacted to the news by liking the post.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift’s caption read when confirming her new relationship status.

Swift and Kloss’ friendship stems back to January 2012 when the “Shake It Off” singer gave a shoutout to the supermodel in an interview.

“I love Karlie Kloss,” Swift said during her Vogue cover story at the time. “I want to bake cookies with her!”

In the years that followed, Kloss was known as a member of Swift’s “squad” and even costarred in the music video for “Bad Blood.”

When Kloss was left out of Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” video in 2017, which featured a list of her remaining squad members, some fans speculated that the pair had a falling out.

In October 2018, however, Kloss tried to shut down any feud rumors when she told Vogue, “Taylor and I are still really good friends.”

Over the years, however, the pair were spotted together less frequently.

Kloss did turn heads in August 2023 when she attended Swift’s final performance of the Eras Tour’s first U.S. leg in Los Angeles. Unlike other celebrity concert attendees, though, the model was spotted in the bleachers rather than the VIP tent.

While speaking to Yahoo Life one year later, Kloss continued to keep fans guessing when she was asked her thoughts on Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department album. Without hesitating, the former Project Runway host sang her praises.

“I’d say the whole album [is my favorite],” she told the outlet. “I mean, her music is classic.”

When asked to name her all-time favorite song, Kloss replied, “She’s got so many hits. I definitely love ‘Shake it Off.'”

Kloss isn’t the only celebrity “liking” Swift and Kelce’s engagement.

Martha Stewart has already offered to be the couple’s wedding planner, while tennis player and self-proclaimed Swiftie Iga Świątek couldn’t hide her excitement about the news minutes after her first-round US Open win.

“Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love,” Brittany Mahomes wrote via herInstagram Story. “Just so happy for these two.”

The Kansas City Chiefs added, “Today is a fairytale. Congrats to Travis and Taylor — we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family!”
