According to savvy Swifties, the timing of Taylor Swift’s engagement announcement was entirely mapped out.

Sharing the news via a joint Instagram post with husband-to-be Travis Kelce on Tuesday, August 26, Swift, 35, may have chosen the day as a nod to track No. 26 on her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department — “The Prophecy.”

The song’s lyrics, which include “Don’t want money / Just someone who wants my company” within the chorus, discusses Swift’s desire to find love. The track asks, “Who do I have to speak to / About if they can redo the prophecy?”

The post also cleverly pointed out that August is month eight (8) of the year: a numerical symbol linked to infinity, which looks like a sideways eight. As the user best summed up, Swift’s announcement may have referenced “forever.”

Other fans noted that Swift, who dated Kelce, 35, for two years before saying yes in a rose-filled Lee’s Summit garden in Missouri almost two weeks prior to the announcement, chose to reveal her news 13 days after her debut on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.

The timing may have nodded to Swift’s longheld and well-recognized favorite number.

Eagled-eyed Swifties also theorized that day 26 of the month was chosen to represent the merging of her favorite number — 13 + 13 equates to 26 — as two individuals unite.
