Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson’s romance has taken the world by storm — but who revealed their feelings first?
A source exclusively tells Us Weekly that Neeson, 73, “has been intrigued and smitten” with Anderson, 58, “since they started filming and expressed this to her.”
While working together on The Naked Gun, the pair’s connection grew and became more obvious.
“Pam and Liam are a good match because they have similar personalities and understand each other,” the insider says.
The couple “balance each other really well,” according to the source, who notes, “Liam is quiet and introspective, and Pamela brings this fun curiosity that he really enjoys.”
Neeson and Anderson sparked romance rumors in fall 2024 when Neeson told People he was “madly in love” with Anderson.
The pair continued to fuel relationship speculation as they gushed about one another on their Naked Gun promotional tour throughout the summer.
“I thought, ‘Oh, my God, she is so easy on the eyes,’” Neeson recalled thinking about his costar during a July interview for People. He then told Anderson, “I was really taken with your ‘thereness.’ You were absolutely there. They was no [brushing me off], I knew we had kind of a chemistry from very early on.”
During the movie’s London premiere on July 22, Neeson and Anderson made headlines for their PDA-filled red carpet appearance. Anderson was photographed kissing her costar on the cheek and later held onto his hand lovingly in a group snap.
While the actors stayed mum on their relationship status during the Tuesday, July 29, episode of the Today show, Us Weekly confirmed their romance that same day.
“Pamela and Liam are dating,” a source exclusively told Us on Tuesday, sharing that the pair “always had chemistry while they were filming and their friendship naturally developed into more.”
Neeson already has the support of Anderson’s two sons, while the Baywatch alum has Neeson’s late wife’s friends in her corner.
“I just think they’re such great costars,” Anderson’s eldest son, Brandon Thomas Lee, told Access Hollywood on Monday, July 28, playing coy about his mom’s love life. “They have such a great onscreen chemistry. It means it’s well done. … They both did such an amazing job. And it’s actually really cool to see both of them in their comedic element.”
Brandon, 29, and Anderson’s youngest son, Dylan Jagger Lee, 27, were both by her side for the New York City premiere that evening. The brothers, whom Anderson shares with ex-husband Tommy Lee, even posed for a group picture with their mom, Neeson and his two sons.
Neeson shared his boys, Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28, with late wife Natasha Richardson, who died in March 2009 at the age of 45 following a ski accident.
Since news broke of Anderson and Neeson’s budding romance, the Taken actor has received an outpouring of love from Richardson’s inner circle.
“Natasha was a dear friend of mine,” Andy Cohen said during the Wednesday, July 30, broadcast of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “And I’m gonna tell you something, I and all of the friends in this circle, are very much stanning, whatever this is.”
Cohen, 57, recalled his advice to Neeson after seeing his spark with Anderson.
“As I was telling him at the premiere party, I go, ‘Liam, she is an independent woman just like Tash was. She loves to cook. She has her own thing going on. She has two boys. This just works,’” Cohen told his listeners as the costars joined him on his show.

Neeson and Anderson, meanwhile, have continued to sing each other’s praises ahead of The Naked Gun’s Friday, August 1, premiere.
“She’s great. She’s terrific,” Neeson said of Anderson on the Wednesday episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, noting her passion for food. “She loves to cook. She loves to bake. She made me sourdough loaves during the shoot. Bran muffins, which I love.”
Anderson, meanwhile, told The New York Times on Thursday, July 31, that Neeson “has so much charm and so much charisma that you kind of just fall into it. I can’t explain it because I’ve never experienced it before.”
