Lisa Rinna’s daughters, Amelia Gray and Delilah Belle, apparently used to have nipple piercings — until a terrifying incident scared them both straight.
“I was so mad. I was mad,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 62, recalled during the Friday, September 5, episode of her “Let’s Not Talk About the Husband” podcast. “But don’t you remember, there was a little issue with Miss Amelia at Coachella? Shall I help you with your memory?”
Rinna’s husband, Harry Hamlin, had no recollection of the incident, but the former soap star was more than ready to set the scene. Amelia, now 24, was at Coachella attending a party where Rinna’s former RHOBH costar Erika Jayne happened to be DJing and had recently gotten at least one nipple piercing. (Rinna couldn’t recall whether her daughter had both done.)
“[Amelia] was up on a balcony, somebody pushed her, kind of like, pushed her forward, and her boob went into a bush,” Rinna explained. “And it, like, jammed the nipple into the boob, and then she came home that night and all of a sudden she had a super high fever and her boob was this big. Don’t you remember?”
Hamlin, 73, still didn’t recall, quipping, “I think I would remember nipple rings on my daughters!”
According to Rinna, Amelia’s “boobs swelled up to this humongous size” after she visited an urgent care facility and got X-rayed.
“We didn’t know what to do, so we called an infectious disease doctor. She had to go to the infectious disease doctor!” the Bravo star explained. “She had sepsis in her freaking boob. … She punctured something when she went into the bush, and she had sepsis and she had to be on IV antibiotics for a week. It was actually very dangerous, guys. It was dangerous.”
She added of the rings: “Anyway, they’re out now.”
Hamlin decided he must have been away in Canada filming during this ordeal, because Rinna’s story jogged no memories for him — and as Rinna noted, Delilah, now 27, also had a nipple piercing at one point.
“She was the first one to go down that road, but she took them out too because Amelia’s tale was very cautionary, and nobody wanted to die because they had a freakin’ nipple ring,” Rinna said. “And she literally had sepsis! We had to take her to UCLA and have intravenous IVs of antibiotics for five days, and then on the weekend, we had to have a nurse come to the house and do two more days at the house.”
While Rinna said the incident was “very traumatic,” it apparently convinced Amelia and Delilah to give up piercings (although both have tattoos).
“No more nipple rings and no more piercings, cheers to that!” Rinna joked.
