'Love Island USA’ Star Cierra's Team Defends Nic Criticism on Her Account

Love Island USA star Cierra Ortega‘s inner circle has been very candid about their dislike of Nic Vansteenberghe, which they are now defending.

The anonymous person running Cierra’s social media took to her Instagram on Friday, June 27, to address what is going on in season 7 while clarifying their personal thoughts on Nic’s connection with their friend.

“This recoupling had me hiding under the covers and clutching my pearls. I should only be this stressed trying to parallel park, not during reality television. Now, let’s address the meatball in the room,” read the caption. “Did I get a little heated after the last episode? Of course. Nearly crash out? One could say that … Spiral like I was personally betrayed? Also yes. If these captions read like a loving but dramatic monologue, good. That’s what friendship with Cierra feels like.”

Cierra’s pal acknowledged that they should “cut mommy’s little meatball some slack.”

“This is in fact Love Island after all, not friendship island,” the post read, referring to Nic by the shirt he wore in a past episode. “Sometimes I forget the premise of the show is to explore new connections, cause mild emotional distress and not fall head over heels for just one person. What can I say, I’m a romantic, and unfortunately love bombing does work on me. All I want is for Cierra to be happy, with someone who treats her like the princess she is.”

While reflecting on their other posts on Cierra’s account, the mystery person admitted they “got a little protective,” adding, “When it comes to ride or dies, I consider Cierra to be one of the best, so all I want to do is return the favor. Even if that means supporting her mildly shocking but admittedly romantic reunion with Mr. Meatball. This is my official peace treaty. Do I believe in second chances? Eh, maybe. Am I delusional? Absolutely. (But just know if he fumbles again, l’ve got a very particular set of skills).”

Love Island USA viewers know that Islanders don’t have access to their phones while in Fiji. As a result, their loved ones or their team is usually responsible for running their social media accounts while they are in the villa. While some use that opportunity to promote the Islanders’ brand, others get more passionate about the Love Island USA journey.

Cierra’s team has definitely been the latter after sharing multiple posts slamming her connection with Nic.

“I’ve known since episode 2 that this meatball turns his head towards any shiny thing that walks by, he’s a Pisces! Maybe she’ll find out that casa cutie with the curls is actually the most compatible for her,” another post read from earlier this month. “All I want is for Cierra to follow her heart, trust her gut, and know that I’ll be waiting here on the outside with hugs … and a plan to extradite mommy’s lil meatball from whatever country he decides to go into hiding after he exits the villa.”

After receiving backlash for their negative posts about Nic, the person running Cierra’s account clarified that they were only expressing their own views, adding, “No, this is not a fan page. Yes, this is in fact Cierra Ortega’s official Instagram account. No, Cierra is not posting these, as she does not have access to her phone or social media while she’s in the villa. Yes, she is still currently in Fiji since the show is being filmed in real time. Who’s running this account? That’s one secret I’ll never tell.”
