Machine Gun Kelly and Pete Davidson have often hyped each other up throughout their time in the spotlight.
The friends, who initially met on the set of Wild ’N Out in 2017, told Coveteur two years later that they grew closer while working on 2019’s The Dirt. “And then we became the bestest of the friends,” the Saturday Night Live alum added at the time.
During the same interview, Davidson admitted that he rapped “every single word” of Kelly’s “Breaking News” when they first crossed paths. “Nah, Jeff Tremaine put me on the spot and was like, ‘Yeah, you’re a big fan?’ Yeah, I go, ‘Yeah.’ And then I just snapped off,” Davidson recalled.
Kelly told Billboard in 2018 that he and Davidson spent time together in New Orleans after The Dirt wrapped. “And we were both just, like, super stoners. …[We] listened to the same music. … So that’s my boy,” he said.
From there, the duo’s bond has gotten even stronger, through good times and bad. Scroll below to see more of the pair’s best bromance moments from over the years:

After the Staten Island native posted a startling Instagram message in December 2018, Kelly dropped everything to help his friend.
“I’m in the plane now on the way to see Pete,” he tweeted. “Gonna make sure he’s good, i promise. can’t have my boy in the darkness like that.”
When it came time to film his “Candy” music video with Trippie Redd, Kelly couldn’t resist adding in a quick cameo for his bestie. Davidson played a pharmacist in one scene. The King of Staten Island star also joined Kelly in his “LOCO” video.
The friends took their roles in Big Time Adolescence very seriously. In one scene, Davidson gets a tattoo while speaking with Griffin Gluck’s character, Mo. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at Sundance in 2019, Davidson revealed the tattoo was real — and was done by Kelly — because he didn’t want to "fake" the emotion and the pain of getting inked. “He did great work,” the comedian added, revealing a “Zeke” tattoo on his ankle.
When Kelly sat down for an interview on Howard Stern’s radio show in September 2020, the host predicted he would eventually get married to Megan Fox, who he started dating in June 2020.
“You’re gonna get married, I think. That’s my prediction,” Stern said. “You’re gonna marry Megan. I think this is gonna happen, and I think Pete’s gonna be your best man. Am I correct?”
Kelly was immediately on board. “Whoa, that’s cool,” he replied. “Yeah, I’m down with that.”
When Stern commended Kelly for his support of Davidson, the “Home” artist described their close bond.
“I don’t have any siblings, you know, so when you have someone like Pete, like, that’s like my little brother,” Kelly said in September 2020. “He’s like my best friend but also like a little brother, so, like, you have the opportunity to live that dynamic of, like, having a sibling. So, obviously, to me, that’s like the dream. Pete’s like that for me.”
After Davidson paid homage to his buddy during a December 2020 episode of the late night sketch series, the singer tweeted his approval for the imitation of his all-pink MTV VMAs look. “Nailed it,” he captioned a fan’s side-by-side photos of the two stars.
After Kelly’s performance on SNL in January 2021, the pair sprayed champagne in his dressing room. “I’m down to relive saturday night over and over again,” Kelly captioned Instagram footage the following month. In the clip, they each shook a bottle in the bathroom before toasting one another and taking sips.
In March 2022, fans heard Davidson's instantly recognizable voice on Kelly's sixth record, Mainstream Sellout, along with the rocker's daughter, Casie. The interlude, titled "Wall of Fame," ends with the comedian saying, "I hope the next song is a banger. Enjoy Machine Gun Kelly's album."
The “Emo Girl” musician gushed about the amusing star-studded parties the duo have attended together.
“There was this one Easter, I was like, ‘Pete, let’s go to my friend’s house for Easter.’ He pulled up and he had 40s and he was like, ‘Let’s do this thing,’” Kelly said during a May 2022 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “We went and it was Sandra Bullock’s house and we walked in and it was like Jen Aniston, all these [A-listers]. Pete was like, ‘Why would you do this to me? We look so stupid, we have 40 ounces and we’re at Sandra Bullock’s house.’ Why didn’t you tell me this was where we were going?’”
After Davison’s girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, revealed in July 2025 that the couple are expecting their first baby, Kelly quickly weighed in. “These playdates bout to hittttt,” he wrote via Instagram.
