We had results from all three of the listed education stocks this week and I spoke with ADvTech* CEO Geoff Whyte about their good results which saw enrolments and profits increasing. Their rest of Africa expansion is also progressing well, and they’ve just opened a tertiary campus in Ghana, while the Sandton campus remains on track to open in time for next year’s courses.

I spoke with Citadel’s Maarten Ackerman on local opportunities amid Trump’s tariffs. The real challenge is a decade-long decline in fixed investment, leaving us under-spending on upgrades and growth — reflected in sluggish 1% GDP growth.

I spoke with Bidcorp CEO Bernard Berson about results, which saw Europe and the UK booming while New Zealand struggled as the country is stuck in a recession. Tariffs aren’t a concern for the company, but staffing is a major cost, and they are seeing cost pressure here, but they’re confident about future profits.
