Tarek El Moussa will face off against his ex-employee Jeffrey Revoy, who is accusing the HGTV star of wrongful termination, in court, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

An Orange County Superior Court judge scheduled the trial to start on October 12, 2026, according to court documents obtained by Us.

In August 2023, Revoy filed his first lawsuit against El Moussa, 43. The other defendants in the lawsuit were El Moussa’s companies, Tarek Buys Homes and Digital Foundation Group, and El Moussa’s business partner.

The suit accused El Moussa and the other defendants of retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.

Revoy claimed he was terminated after reporting “harassing and threatening conduct by one of more of the” defendants to human resources.

In the suit, Revoy said he was hired as CEO of Tarek Buys Homes in September 2021. Per the deal, Revoy agreed to relocate from Utah to California. Later, he was hired to help with El Moussa’s company, Digital Foundation Group.

He claimed he hired an outside human resources firm in early 2022. The firm spoke to employees who claimed El Moussa’s business partner was “demeaning.”

A short time later, Revoy claimed El Moussa “began experiencing cash flow difficulties. These difficulties manifested themselves both in the operations of his businesses as well as in his personal actions.”

In an alleged 2022 text, El Moussa told Revoy that his agent dropped the ball and HGTV owed him money. Revoy claimed El Mousa took $250,000 out of Digital Foundation Group for personal use but ended up replenishing the accounts.

In July 2022, Revoy claimed a Tarek Buys Home employee made a complaint about [El Moussa’s business partner]. Revoy said he reached out to the human resources team.

The same month, Revoy said El Moussa lost his temper and threw a sandwich at one of his assistants, complaining that it did not have mustard. Revoy claimed a member of the crew filed a complaint but nothing happened because the person who was struck was not an HGTV employee. Revoy said the same day El Moussa’s long-time employee resigned due to “inexcusable” behaviors, including “screaming, yelling” and cursing.

On July 29, 2022, Revoy said he received an email from El Moussa’s personal attorney informing him he was terminated. Revoy said the decision was retaliatory for him raising the issue about El Moussa’s business partner to HR. He said the duo were also financially motivated “by financial pressures to terminate” him to save money by not paying him compensation.

The lawsuit demanded an unspecified amount in damages.

El Moussa filed a countersuit against Revoy for breach of fiduciary duties and various other claims. He accused Revoy of making false claims against another employee which led to Revoy terminating the employee. El Moussa claimed he was forced to spend hundreds of thousands in legal fees in a fight with the ex-employee. Revoy denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

Revoy asked for a five to seven day jury trial in the matter.

Revoy filed a second separate lawsuit against El Moussa in February 2024 for breach of contract. He claimed El Moussa cofounded a real estate company TEM Capital Management.

He claimed El Moussa was to own 75 percent and he would own 15 percent. Revoy said he led and managed the company from inception through a successful first year.

“But once Revoy got the business up and running — and primed and ready for massive success — El Moussa decided he would just keep it all for himself,” the suit alleged. “So he reneged on their enforceable bargain and pretended — despite all evidence to the contrary — that Revoy never had an interest in” the company.

Revoy said El Moussa denied his interest and had him removed with the required board approval. He said El Moussa used his fame to persuade the world “that he and he alone founded the company.”

In March 2024, Tarek denied all allegations in the lawsuit over TEM Capital. His lawyer argued, “[El Moussa] alleges that [Revoy’s] alleged claims and damages, if any, are barred in whole or in part because they were caused by and are attributable to the acts or omissions of [Revoy] himself or third parties for whom [El Moussa] is not responsible. He demanded the suit be thrown out.

On July 24, Revoy filed court documents dismissing the lawsuit over TEM Capital without prejudice, meaning it could be refiled in the future.

As Us previously reported, El Moussa learned his HGTV show The Flipping El Moussas was canceled by the network amid a decline in cable viewership. His other show The Flip Off was renewed by the network.
